Reviews for Teacher in Melbourne Polytechnic

If you can get a full time job it would be a good workplace.

Very hard to move from casual to part-time or full time. prior education qualifications treated as worthless without Cert IV in training and assessment. An incredible amount of admin including enrolling and withdrawing students personally. Not much admin support.

Amazing Culture! That's about it.

Culture is amazing. Friendly people and everyone is laid back and enjoys a chat. You'd have to really try to fault the place under a casual contract. Rates are good and work is minimal. Management is abysmal though, outdated tech and reluctance to evolve with the times is certainly hurting the company. But oh well.

Pros

Best culture ever, Very good casual rates

Cons

No training or induction, management is disconnected terribly, outdated processes and procedures harm productivity

Once was a fun and productive place to work but since going corporate it has changed for the worse.

Far too many middle management doing made up jobs, too much redundant and ridiculous paperwork for admin and teachers. It is more like a corporate institution than an educational one. Has been systematically ruined by dodgy CEOs.

Pros

The students

Cons

Ridiculous amounts of meaningless paperwork
