Enough been said no more summaries
Senior Procurement Partner (Former Employee) - Australia - 1 June 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? People are fantastic to deal with, and they are most passionate about what they do and the community What is the most stressful part about working at the company? LEADERS (Especially the CEO and her Directors and some of the Managers) continuous degradation and manipulation great resources. Low staff retention with not much care about the loss. They like to bring their "own mindset" or work along with their expectations/needs/wants. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Toxic to the last minute no value or respect from the LEADERS What is a typical day like for you at the company? Start at 8.3-9 and finish around 5.30 and most of the time beyond 6PM

Working in a salt mine would be better
Manager (Former Employee) - Coburg VIC - 19 March 2023
Horrible toxic culture driven by self serving people in leadership roles (can't call them leaders) who waste rate payer money with a casual ease that is frightening. CEO sets the tone with a equally incompetent executive who are more interested in being PC than in actually accomplishing anything of value for the community, No accountability, no leadership, no idea what they are doing, but get away with it because the are accountable to people with no commercial acumen who are only interested in getting re-elected through a popularity contest with voters, the community would be better off if the entire mob were sacked and the council placed under administration.
Pros
You would be hard pressed to find any at all
Cons
Insane toxic environment, People in leadership roles who have absolutely no clue what they are doing.

Unproductive, unsupported and robot feel environment
Customer Service Officer (Former Employee) - Coburg VIC - 15 January 2023
This council surprisingly has very old fashion systems in place , the team leaders are very lazy they get employees training new staff, the customer service to the community is very poor as they do a million requests for different departments so waste less double dibbing job duties that the customer service officers are required to do. Some of the customer service staff a very rude and mindless team-leaders that still living in the 80's with no direction for change.
Pros
Free lunches for events
Cons
Micro-management a school feel like culture.

A terrible place to work
Not disclosing (Current Employee) - Coburg VIC - 21 July 2022
Shocking culture, that is from the top down, no apparent desire to fix or the inability to fix. Incumbent staff are ruining the place for anyone who wants to succeed, or even help out. Would not recommend working there to anyone, in its current form. Probably needs to be put into administration and the entire place overhauled, because currently it is not working at all.

small but helpful team
Citizen Service Officer (Former Employee) - Coburg VIC - 6 September 2017
The customer service team at Moreland was quite small, consisting of approximately 10-15 people on the floor at one time, and 6-8 counter staff at three council locations. A typical day would require resolving a wide range of complaints from Moreland citizens, transferring calls where necessary, discussing sensitive, confidential matters such as rates, fines, planning permits, complaints about neighbors, businesses, calls from emergency services and much more. The team was a diverse, close knit, supportive group, many of whom had been in their role for 20-30 years, so no matter what level of problem a caller was facing, there was generally an experienced member of staff to assist in resolution.
There were periods of high volume calls - such as happened after a high wind event or storm when trees fall across roads or fences. On many occasions I was requested to do overtime which I rarely refused (for the benefit of both the callers and my colleagues). My Team Leaders were supportive and approachable, there was a great sense of work -life-balance.
The most difficult part of the job were the times when callers would be frustrated or angry due to issues out of my control - for example other departments being unavailable & not returning calls after several messages & alerts had been left over a period of weeks. It was difficult to guess a reason the internal staff member had seemingly ignored the messages- and then to reassure the caller (who may have a costly builder waiting on a planning permit/ concrete pour etc) that the messages had been left & I had tried my best in -
