Large Institution
Program Consultant (Former Employee) –  Sydney NSW21 November 2018
Overall a poor experience and could be run better. Very top heavy and political with people protecting their roles.

Leadership cares about share price and do not care about customers and just want to climb ladders by getting big numbers (hence bonuses) with little regard for customer returns.

Senior Investment Analyst (Current Employee) –  Sydney, AUSTRALIA12 August 2018
Benefits are good relative to other similar employers

Most enjoyable part of the day is seeing clients and networking across different business units

Culture has been undermined by the disproportionate focus on compliance, which on average slows most things down

Great place to learn but work load can be over whelming.
MORTGAGE/LENDING SPECIALIST (Former Employee) –  Sydney NSW30 May 2018
Worked for nab for over 3 year. It is a great place to gain skills and knowledge, they are alway looking for way to improve their staff. The only draw back is that some department take the work load for other why are trying to meet there bottom line meaning it have a culture of passing the buck.
Within the last team I worked for we were the end of the line for consumers meaning we had to deal with everyone else work load. This lead to long hours with no overtime pay.
Management know about the issue but wasn't addressed.
Pros
Great progression
Cons
Excessive work loads

The company has been very good to me ever since I started. The managers were very helpful and understanding, and had a lot of foresight in seeing how their staff could grow, and they are very supportive in that sense.

Exciting place to work, always have great team environment
Customer Advisor (Current Employee) –  Sydney NSW23 May 2017
I am a customer adviser, better yet known as a teller.
Work hours are part-time, 9.15-4.15. Working in the Sydney CBD is always intense due to the large influx of daily customers. My job is dealing directly with customers and handling their day to day banking needs. This varies from general withdrawals, deposits, transfers & account inquiries to disputes, product inquiries and fraud.

The hardest part of the job is satisfying each and every customer, as working in the city, people are short of time and patience. A lot of complaints are generally around branches being under staff, wait time was too long or online systems are unavailable.

In my instance, i have various responsibilities which is well out of my pay grade, which consists of doing assistant branch manager duties, yet unpaid for. This is a pro and a con. A pro because it gives me knowledge of management, and a con due to be expected to do this duty & not receive the title and pay for it. No recognition for effort.

The most enjoyable part is working in a diverse and out going team environment full of many cultures and personalities.

Benefits - rewards program, discounts

lack of promotions

Overall, good place to work
Advisor (Current Employee) –  Sydney NSW15 May 2017
UBank has been a good place to work. It is mainly call centre work while some others look after day to day documentation and processing. There is not really much room for career progression untess you want to move into homeloans.

While there is exposure to other areas of the business, there is rarely any opportunity to do any secondments or move over completely (if that is what you are looking for).
Pros
CEO's enthusiasm
Cons
Career progression

Great Diversity and Work Life Balance
NSW/ACT Sales Support Manager (Former Employee) –  Sydney NSW23 April 2017
NAB provided an excellent training ground for dealing with every level of the organisation. They promoted a healthy work life balance and encored working from home.

They could however be very political at times and this was especially evident in who they promoted. Their 'Bell curve' appraisal system meant than no one could really ever have a high performing team. Someone always had to be on the outer, which was discouraging

Work life balance
Cons
Politics
