Changing
Insights Manager (Current Employee) - Melbourne VIC - 27 June 2022
Indeed Featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedInteresting workplace, good co workers. But lack direction from Leadership and constant changes. We keep working around same problems year after year where we as employees loose interest in working

Great transformative experience at NBN
Digital Business Manager - Field Services (Former Employee) - Sydney NSW - 28 July 2022
Company is one of its kind considering they are managing the wholesale telecom infrastructure of Australia. Big responsibility in post pandemic world as we transition to more digital oriented lifestyle. It's a great company with great incumbent and emerging leaders.

Overall, i had a positive experience working there. Well rounded diversity and supportive culture
Various Engineering Role (Current Employee) - Melbourne VIC - 9 July 2022
I worked under 5 different manager, 4 of them were simply great, they would push you for your advancement. And i was unlucky to have the 1 manager which was a bitter experience. I guess that is the case in any job. NBN is very supportive for work life balance. Company culture is quite positive i would say. I would recommend working there.

Great place to work with good managers
Business Analyst (Current Employee) - North Sydney NSW - 31 March 2022
Love working here. The Sydney office is great location and the work is always interesting and relevant. The restructures sometimes can be stressful but most of the time it's for the best.

Lots of opportunity to grow and solve problems
Associate Data Delivery Engineer (Former Employee) - Melbourne VIC - 12 March 2022
Within the engineering unit, I contributed to some amazing systems, learned from very experienced engineers, and watched management put themselves out there with weekly meetings that allowed anonymous questions. There was lots of shift at the end of the main build project, but the organisation tried hard to retain as many employees as possible.
Pros
Great wfh flexibility and transition, lots of learning opportunities, clear management style, and free coffee on premises
Cons
Silo’d team which sometimes felt combative.

Good pay, good people to work with
Call Centre Representative (Former Employee) - Gold Coast QLD - 2 March 2022
Although everything else is excellent, the process they have in place is absolutely horrible. You have to go through 3-4 people to get to who you need to, and even then you can’t directly speak to that person, you have go through all those other people. Same with customers, we can only answer generic questions, but other than that we’re useless.
Pros
Lunch room, salary, benefits, people
Cons
Process, management, adherence, limited ability to actually solves the customers issue

Easy company to work at. Continual organisational change means a revolving door for some staff and opportunities for those who are well connected.
Business Improvement Manager (Former Employee) - North Sydney NSW - 6 February 2022
Great place, easy to gain experience, though many of the employees and especially the management have been learning on the job, as per Bill Morrow's statement "building the plane whilst flying it". Moving up the ladder is dependent on networking skills and politics; productivity is similarly judged. Technical competence is recognised, though rare, with HR competency questions in interviews being behavioural only. Salary increases are negligible (unless you're moving up the ladder) and based only on perceived and adaptable at the time behavioural competencies, as they are firmly defended by HR policies. The bonus system has recently been changed to eliminate managers' subjectivity.
Pros
Easy and safe, with frequent good redundancies.
Cons
Continual change, though some thrive on it. One needs to be well connected to advance.

Collaborative, Supportive workplace with Career flexibility and support
Project Manager (Current Employee) - Docklands VIC - 27 September 2021
Certified Great Place To Work - NBN lives and breathes being a great place to work. Super supportive of parents especially during lockdown and working from home. Good parental leave options. Their culture is maturing with many wellbeing initiatives being delivered to support staff and the one team culture. Pay increases and bonuses have significantly reduced over the past 2-3 years despite NBNs increased revenue. Not an industry leader in terms of pay and remuneration. Overall a great place to work for gaining experience across the industry. NBN value skills and work ethic/attitude over paper qualifications. If you want a career in Telco it's a great place to start.
Pros
Culture, Collaboration, Career Opportunities, Flexible working
Cons
Low remuneration, lack of incentives, no events/gifts

Great place to work with a lot of great people
Manager Operations (Former Employee) - North Sydney NSW - 11 July 2021
Great place to work with a lot of great people, however management layer is a joke and very dysfunctional. Too much politics and pay too much attention on management reporting, this should be an innovative and technology-focused company. And please look after experienced, skilled technical workforce not inept management.
Pros
A lot of talented people, competitive salary.
Cons
Too many reorgs, very stressful.

Jobs at nbn™
Agile team with competitive team
Java Full Stack Developer (Former Employee) - Sydney NSW - 12 August 2020
NBN was a fabulous experience for me. I have learned a lot on Agile methodology. Scrum planning, sprint call, scrum meeting, daily standup, the kick-off meeting, handover meeting. The team was awesome, everybody worked as a team. It was great learning for me.

Once a great company to work with
Application developer (Former Employee) - Sydney NSW - 30 July 2020
NBN was a great company to work around 2012-2015 .Most of the good people left the organisation .Jobs are offered only to friends and mates . Jobs are advertised and interviews conducted but rarely an outsider will land the role . Too much of internal politics . Frequent organisational changes with no direction . Resources are mostly hired from two main vendors . Looks as if working in India .

Unbelieveably Secretive
Customer Assurance Representative (Former Employee) - Gold Coast QLD - 17 June 2020
This workplace was not what I had expected it to be.
As a government run incentive to provide faster more reliable internet services in Australia I was overwhelmed at the chaotic and underhanded approach to consumers in this call center.
For myself personally it felt as though the customer service handling of enquiries was fobbed off back to the RTS ( Telco providers).
Education around mixed-multi technologies or BROADBAND has not been provided freely to consumers and in fact many are still mislead in regards to exactly what NBNco is able to provide to consumer markets.
Witnessed this year during COVID they magically increased bandwidth to consumers and created a basic 25/1 plan for free consumption. Inernally this company will effectively go private with taxpayers being the contributors and will not receive any additinal benefits.
Under a Malcolm Turnbull government it is easy to see why the CEO stood down purely because the internal corrupt nature and delivery of the NBN to general public is misleading and false.
Pros
Paid Well
Cons
Misleading and deceptive conduct
