Great roster and close to home
Supervisor (Current Employee) - Boddington WA - 30 March 2023
Great roster with 8/6 7/7. Close to home. Upper management are a bit out of touch with the real happenings of the place. Looks different in the field than a computer screen team. Other than that. Not bad.

Place is built on lies
Labourer (Current Employee) - Boddington WA - 4 February 2023
Management have openly said they will only employe certain genders to tick the boxes, happy to hire people with ABSOLUTEY no experience and pay them the same rate as people who have been in for years, very stressful culture and demanding as management need to make kpi's for their bonuses, mentally straining, treated like a number not a person
Pros
leaving the site everyday
Cons
driving through the gates

Casual, reasonable attitudes towards human failures
Haul Truck Operator (Current Employee) - Boddington WA - 15 January 2023
Good workplace culture with low staff turnover creating a settled and encouraging workplace enviroment. Thorough training and on boarding Fully autonomous site which means Anxilliary training is more likely Managment is reasonable and advocate safty without the conflict of production pressure. Most enjoyable part of the job is the people and culture which is on average an older demographic with more women than the 20% i had previously experienced. More women on anxilliary
Pros
My car is on site and I can leave if I need to anytime I like
Cons
Fully autonomous means its a bit slow for haul truck drivers at times

Stressful
Ancillary operator (Former Employee) - Boddington - 23 May 2022
They don’t value their employees at all and don’t believe in paying people for their experience and knowledge. Like to lead their workers on telling them what they want to hear so they will keep performing tasks at a lower pay rate while paying others more money with less experience
Pros
7/7 roster
Cons
Won’t pay people for their experience and knowledge want everything for nothing

Good place overall , permit office stressful
Permit Technician (Former Employee) - Boddington WA - 23 April 2022
Stressful environment within the permit office, culture that doesn't embrace change or fresh ideas. Salaries vary on time spent at company rather than experience

Productive workplace
Production Geologist (Current Employee) - Ahafo-Kenyase - 17 October 2021
Newmont is a fun place to work because their safety culture is second to none. There is an inclusive atmosphere at work where everyone freely expresses his/her opinion. Processes are sometimes too bureaucratic though.
Pros
Solid safety culture
Cons
Bureaucratic processes

Jobs at Newmont Mining
Stressful and unforgiving
Bogger Operator (Former Employee) - Northern Territory - 8 October 2021
The crews are good, the mine is relatively safe but trying to get your pay right is very hard for Newmont. HR is terrible at helping you and don't seem to care about their job. Management is let's say all about getting the job done, doesn't matter if it's safe or not
Pros
Free food
Cons
Entitlements

Production over people
Mine Technician (Former Employee) - Boddington WA - 9 August 2021
I found the people to be the best and worst thing about the place. On the one hand, I made friends that I remain in regular contact with long after leaving the company. on the other hand, I found some of the permanent staff in my department would nark on people immediately instead of having a simple conversation on the correct action for that job and they would do it all for like an extra 3-5% on their safety KPI's. There's a lot of unnecessary meetings, I found management's open-door policy was really just a saying to look like they cared. I would work here again only for the fact that it was close to Perth.
Pros
The people
Cons
Poor management culture

Just Like Working in a Kindergarten
Dump Truck Driver / Loader Operator (Former Employee) - Boddington WA - 18 April 2021
They treat their workers as if they were children. Everything is monitored, there are cameras everywhere, including in the mobile equipment. People are micro-managed to the point where they are too frightened to even make an on the spot decision about anything, no matter how trivial. There's an old saying that if you treat people like idiots for long enough, eventually, they will act like idiots. That's exactly what happened to most of the people I worked with at Newmont. They were so beaten down by the work culture that most of them were incapable of doing anything without getting on a 2-way radio and getting permission from a supervisor.
Pros
Good work roster, permanent rooms, free health cover.
Cons
Toxic work environment.

proactive, efficient, timely and safety conscious
chief surveyor (Former Employee) - Ahafo - 29 May 2020
Best chief surveyor ever had in Newmont Ghana
Managed the survey section the best ever and that put stop to resignations in the section.
Executed routine surface mine in-pits and out-pits surveys and contract surveys for the company.
Synergized routine daily survey job requirements and got bought in by the entire team which led to effective knowledge transfers and cover ups within the team and outside.

Disappointing With Boddingtons Fake Management
Safety (Former Employee) - Boddington WA - 15 November 2019
i Drove From Perth at 3 am to Start Work At Boddington Excited and looking forward to starting work at Boddington I Had been Promised 12 Hours a Day For a 12 Day Shutdown Of arrival I Was Escorted By A Supervisor And Introduced me to Staff And they Were Told I Was In Boddington For 12 Hours A Day For 12 Days Shutdown
The following day I Was Told My hours Would Be Cut To 9 Hours A Day
Because they Wanted to Cost Cut I was the Only Worker in That Office Whose Hours Were cut the Other permanent workers Kept their 12 Hours a Day ???
Then When I went On a Inspection in the Field I Noticed a Serious Electrical Defect In a Machine and Reported This Defect To Management They Denied Any Defect Existed and I Was Sacked (I took Photos Of This defect And Next Week i Will be sending These Photos To the Mines Department And The Press Boddington Management Are Covering Up Defects and Unsafe Behavior and Putting lives at Risk it is only a matter of time Before a Serious Indecent occurs as a consequence of this bad Management

Stressful place to work
Dump Truck Operator (Former Employee) - Boddington WA - 21 September 2019
When I started at newmont the atmosphere was rough but easy enough to handle.
A lot of unnecessary stress put on everyone, every day started with a negative prestart meeting.
When training new truck driver, it was almost impossible to get the dispatch people to cooperate. Supervisor where not much help either. Th training manuals where not consistent.
