Great place to be taught in a nurturing atmosphere
Producer (Former Employee) –  Sydney, NSW12 January 2016
I couldn't ask for a better place to work when just moved to Australia - News Corp is the place where you can pursue your dreams if you decided to dedicate yourself to media business. Career opportunities are enormous and people who work in News Corp definitely know what "Team" means.

Of course, everyone goes through their ups and downs but in News Corp even if you don't deliver your best performance, you will be supported and motivated to do your best next time.

Sales Based News Papper ads
Role Market Manager (Former Employee) –  Sydney NSW3 December 2018
The company has high expectations of staff but don't provide any one hands incentives for managing the the decrease interest in reading the news papers, therefore the sales team loses money as customers leave the paper for online services.

Their sales goals aren't realistic and they keep moving their demands of a staff member to make them earn more money for a company that will soon be out of business people move to online forms of media and news consumption.
Pros
free coffee and tea, good people working there
Cons
micromanagement / no team 'feel' unrealistic views of their future

A nice place to work
Sales Manager (Former Employee) –  Sydney NSW7 November 2018
It's a nice place to work. Close to transport and has good amenities. People that worked at News for are down to earth mostly. Like most large organisations, certain management heads do tend to play favoritism, especially in the sales division.

This is a very fast paced environment. Good working culture and well-established structure. The learning curve is deep but reasonable for such a big company.

Good place to work.
Graphic Designer (Former Employee) –  Townsville QLD1 August 2018
Newscorp is a good place to work. Made a lot of good friends and contacts there however with share prices falling at Newscorp in the last few years I was forced to take a redundancy in order for the company to stay competitive. This is no means a reflection of my work or ability nor integrity.
Pros
Free lunches, functions, corporate tickets. Food people.
Cons
Lack of advancement for artists.

A place with great potential but complexities of a large business such as this lacks agility in the digital business
Group Digital Manager (Current Employee) –  Sydney NSW10 July 2018
-A typical work day is about 12 hours with supporting 21 sales people which includes both client meetings/strategy sessions with sales/ data deep dives for retention and inumerable internal management meetings.
- Have learnt to be clear, decisive and provide high direction as there are too many tasks. Choice management on time is critical tending towards higher ROI activity.
- Very good vision but clear lack of the "how"
- Good work culture
- No clear charter of KPI's and responsibilities within different departments which leads to buck passing in which the customer suffers the most.
- The potential of what News Corp has in resources to become market leaders

Work Experience (Former Employee) –  Surry Hills NSW18 May 2018
Lots of scanning documents, checking paperwork was scanned correctly.
I learned that payroll its terribly boring and I will not be pursuing a career in this industry.
Management was alright - because it was a temporary work experience, management was unorganised in what work id be undertaking, so I often had no work to do
All the people were nice, but it was a lot of older people
Hardest part was staring at a computer all day - great way to induce a headache
Most enjoyable part - lunch break

Enjoyed working here but seems all the work is going overseas due to costs, but that seems to be the modern trend
I never got to do much digital work only doing the odd bit here and there, I was probably in the wrong department

Administration Assistant
Administration Assistant (Former Employee) –  Melbourne VIC29 January 2018
While the job did not consist of much administration work, the job was mainly packing and organizing merchandise to be mailed. The job was very easy and didn't require much thought process. You could listen to music and keep your head down and get a lot done that way. Management lacked experience and was often too busy to direct us, therefore we had to improvise and take initiative way too often. Overall the job was easy and is nice for a few months to make some easy money. Would not recommend if looking for advancement within the company.

Passionate team ensuring customers are provided with a great news service
Commercial Finance Manager - Marketing (Current Employee) –  Sydney NSW24 November 2017
Preparing reports and analysis on weekly subscription performance to allow decision making across the marketing department. I learned a lot about how marketing works in a business to attract new customers.
Good team culture in the marketing department with team drinks and many social activities to boost engagement.
The most enjoyable part is the people and learning off peers. Having access to talented people across the business is also a plus.
Hardest part is the demanding budget and forecasting process that often requires longs hours to complete. Resources have been reduced making extra work for the remaining staff members.
Pros
Free newspapers

not enough work life balance

Great place to grow
Inbound Sales Consultant (Former Employee) –  Melbourne VIC8 November 2017
Working for News will definitely test most people. The job is often varied and required apt problem solving. But what brought it together was the management and the culture. The people in Direct Sales Victoria often supported each other to such a degree that it made the job not only achievable but enjoyable. Since Direct Sales Victoria has now been dissolved I can't really speak to the environment across other offices but provided that culture is upheld the job itself can be very enjoyable.

Also they had Milo in the break room.
