No work life balance
Showroom Manager (Former Employee) - Sydney NSW - 11 June 2023
If you like working every weekend, 6 days a week and dealing with constant infighting from sales staff, you will love it. Would not recommend working here if you have a family or expect to have any social life.

was the worst job I have ever had. management bullion from other staff no lunch break no credit higher than achievable sales targets
Sales Representative (Former Employee) - Myaree and Osborne Park WA - 8 June 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? Nothing Worst job I’ve ever had What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Management. Management thrived on making stuff competitive with each other andDaily arguments would persist with new staff and establish staff What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Absolutely dog eat dog. No understanding at all the staff need to have a social life the inability to be flexible about weekends was and is totally unrealistic. What is a typical day like for you at the company? Being as close as possible to the front door to pounce on the next customer before your colleague does. Making sales and using an antiquated point of sale system. Always ended up working overtime and not getting paid

Not a good place to work, too much stress
Store Manager (Current Employee) - Nunawading VIC - 10 April 2023
Not a good place to work, too much stress & pressure. Sales sales. Employees are just a salesman code. Expect too much from the workers for the retail wage paid.
Pros
Ok Pay, retail wages
Cons
Stress, pressure, not friendly

Do not bother!
Administrative Assistant (Former Employee) - Highpoint Shopping Centre VIC - 25 March 2023
If there was one thing I could turn back in life is not getting this job, this company is utterly unprofessional they do not care about looking after their staff only are concerned about making budget. Managers will stress you out to the core I was made to do two jobs both admin and sales consultant yet never was given commission save your time and look else where that will look after you.
Pros
Nothing
Cons
Long hours

High pressure sales environment
Full Time Sales Consultant (Former Employee) - Newcastle NSW - 10 November 2022
If you're not a sales shark, you will eventually be left in the shallows. Commission is the driving force, the base wage is OK but not great. The culture is most definitely Boys' Club. Bullying was imbedded in the workplace. Stressful lack of work life balance, the mandate is to work every weekend without exception, public holidays too. Store manager was a good and equitable person, but upper management was relentless in the pursuit of 100% sales targets. Burn out and stress, I wouldn't recommend working here if you have more empathy than ambition.
Pros
A couple of supportive colleagues
Cons
High stress, endemic bullying

Days become one
Salesperson (Former Employee) - Newcastle NSW - 29 April 2022
Have you seen Groundhog Day?? No support from upper management. Never a weekend off, forget your life you work for Nick Scali now. Some good people at ground level but the positive is far outweighed by the negative.

Fun workplace
Furniture technician (Former Employee) - Direk SA - 18 November 2021
Furniture technician, should have been training, before his send to customers homes no training has been offer on my case. It's a very stressful job,and not safe(dirty lounges, dirty houses),for the wage Nick scali offer. Some tools they offer to fix problems on spot are not appropriate. My reason of resign from the position, Very stressful , not safe (today's covid) Not appropriate tools , not training and the wage.

Jobs at Nick Scali Furniture
Diverse and hard working group in Melbourne that care about each others success.
Furniture Service Technician (Former Employee) - Keysborough VIC - 3 October 2021
I enjoyed my opportunity to work at nick scali. I experienced some personal issues during my contract and I did not get my 6 months as planned. I should have communicated better with the bosses and explained my situation which in turn would have given me time off to sort my personal issues and return to work. I have struggled to find and keep work ever since as a result.
Pros
Caring, understanding and family like
Cons
Managed by people from different state of NSW that I never got to meet face to face

Disconnected micromanagers
Drone (Former Employee) - Adelaide Region SA - 18 July 2021
"Set you up for success" is a phrase you'll hear when you first start working for this company. It's a falsehood they'll make you believe until you realise they don't know how to adequately train new recruits. From here, you'll begin to understand that any mistake you make will be recorded so it can be dealt with unfairly at a later date. Don't ask for annual leave, ever. Understand that this is not a normal company and don't apply to work here if you'd like to remain happy. I would rate my experience with zero stars if I could.
Pros
None
Cons
Micromanaging, Disconnected, Mean.

Nick Scali is a great company to work for and can understand why they are a leader in their field. The showroom is beautiful, the people are friendly and helpful and the career and monetary opportunity is definitely there. With uncapped commissions the potential is yours!

School yard mentality from management
General merchandising (Former Employee) - Maroochydore QLD - 29 April 2020
If your not consistently writing huge numbers week to week, joining your colleagues in isolating other team members or just laughing at the bosses jokes, you won’t last long!

Worst Place I have ever worked
Showroom Manager (Former Employee) - NSW - 30 March 2020
There is no formal training the team are very competitive and aggressive there is no head office support.
No work life balance as you work every weekend and not allowed to take any days for family events.
You are forced to work public holidays with a promise of time in leau however when you ask for it you will be declined.
This job would suit very lazy people as there is absolutely nothing to do and no growth.

It was a nice comfortable place to work.
Sales Consultant (Former Employee) - Joondalup WA - 18 April 2019
Upon arriving at work you would walk the showroom to make sure everything was in it place and in presentable condition for sale.
Learnt alot about furniture, construction, how it is made, where a lot of our furniture comes from.
Most of the management team was really nice, friendly and very helpful.
The culture between Joondalup, Osborne Park and Midland was really good. We would communicate on a regular basis in regard to floor stock available.
The hardest part was the compulsory weekend work full days, so you had no social life.
Seeing the look on the customers face when you have helped the select the new furniture for their home.
Pros
Set Salary & commision
Cons
Compulory weekend work with no excusses

Productive good work ethics company
Sales Consultant (Current Employee) - Canberra ACT - 24 March 2019
good workplace culture
good team work culture, team support is excellent , we all work well
together and enjoy sharing information
Management is outstanding best I have worked with
The worst thing about the job is having to work absolutely every
weekend no allowances are made to have a Sunday or a Saturday off. This means you miss out on family weddings etc. Holidays
have to be taken when they say and no more than 2 weeks at a time.
So going overseas is not possible.
Pros
commission is paid on top of wage
Cons
every weekend
