Worst place to work.

I was proud to say I worked for NSW Health at Gosford Hospital. Now it's the most dreadful place. No support from management. Terrible environment to work. Work culture is horrendous. In the administration side you can get a job if you know management. People are employed because of family working in Admin already not on merit or experience. Understaffed and working in stressful workplace. So glad I have left and now work in the private sector.

Flexible and supportive

Remote work is allowed, and nice work life balance. Great team, and very supportive. The drawbacks are they are using some legacy tech stack, but trying to migrate.

Good Place to work

NSW Health is a great place to work and advance any career you wish. There are many different and diverse roles that can be taken up or apply to if you want to.

Watch out for bad management

there's a lot of politics, and workplace bullying/unacceptable behavior gets swept under the rug because of short staffing, seniority, and alliances.

Pros

a steady paycheck

Cons

management, unfair sick leave policy

Terrible workplace

Management do not care about staff at all. Always adding more patients and tasks to do. And never filling sick leave. Also, forcing you to take your annual Leave when you do not want to.

Professional workplace

Plenty of shifts available, well organised management, friendly co-workers. Tough job physically and mentally. Understaffing is always an issue but that’s normal anywhere you work in healthcare. Professional, learning on the job, plenty of educational opportunities,

Rewarding work

As a registered nurse the work was exhausting but most of the people I worked with were amazing. I had a lot of opportunities for professional growth

Backstabbing leadership, no flexibility. Put everything in writing!

Most managers seem to be covering several jobs and are hard to get ahold of. This is the only job where managers regularly throw employees under the bus, lying to their superiors to blame others for work that they haven't done, claiming credit for work that they didn't do, or blatantly lying about things they've said.

Productive and fun

Great place to work. Supportive environment and ability to learn new skills and qualifications. Staff are helpful and there is an opportunity to transfer skills

Front line team awesome. Management terrible.

Wonderful frontline team. Dedicated and professional. Devious and undermining management, who are quick to blame and shame, but slow to recognise or acknowledge any good attributes of the staff. Almost corrupt. Gaslighting rife.

Pros

Great front line yea

Cons

Appalling management and HR

Interesting place to work, departments are note equally funded

Newcastle office has a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Like all big organisations, not every part is well funded or managed. Collaboration and outcome oriented individuals are rare. The work can be important and meaningful, though better optimised. Financial progression can be very difficult even for the competent and well-liked.

Pros

Friendly workplace

Cons

Financial progression
