Great place to work. People are great and lots of room to grow and progress. Always a lot of on the job learning and support. Good if you want want to make a career in Health.

Worst place to work.

I was proud to say I worked for NSW Health at Gosford Hospital. Now it's the most dreadful place. No support from management. Terrible environment to work. Work culture is horrendous. In the administration side you can get a job if you know management. People are employed because of family working in Admin already not on merit or experience. Understaffed and working in stressful workplace. So glad I have left and now work in the private sector.

Good secure workplace

Working at NSW Health was a good job. Covid has had a big impact on the workforce. Depending on the role you hold as per the amount of impact.Good pay and entitlements.

Toxic Management structure

The hierarchy and structure creates a culture of bullying and disrespect. Never call HR if you need help or advice about being treated badly at work. They all know each other and you will be unofficially marked for never getting promoted. Should be a great workplace but getting a bad team leader leads to corruption as they for little gangs with the favourites (not the ones who do a good job and actually help the public). They should run on policy more not supervisors opinions and bias.

Over worked not fun wrong people get to the top whilst good staff are given grief.

Minimal rushed training. Thrown in the deep end. Bully's for Manager's. A lot of lazy staff who don't get dealt with. Everything is presented as transparent but what really goes on behind closed doors is all about, not what you know, but who you know. Long drawn out application processes. Mostly casual or permanent part time. Supplying documents over & over again. The whole Health System is failing, staff are leaving in droves, causing more stress on the ones still there. With a lot of GP's starting to Not Bulk Bill, this will put more pressure on the Emergency Departments, who can't cope now. Massive problems ahead.

You think a Government job is safe.

Extra extra work but no rewards at all.

Current work role, history in healthcare

Great place to work, always someone to help, access to documentation is great and library easy to use. Salary to Government levels, might need updating, overall happy place to work.

Bullies Women and Men. No interest from managers in career growth or appraisals. From top to management incompetents and favoritism. And multiple incidents of bullying and harrassment.

Wonderful place to work

NSW Health is a great place to work. I'm in an Admin role and the atmosphere is really good. Everyone is so lovely, lots of flexibility, Monday to Friday, really great wages with lots of benefits eg; optionial salary sacrifice for just about everything including mortgage or rent, great super, lots of opportunities to try different roles if you want to, 1 RDO/month, training flexibility with work hours and much more!:)

Great people, great wages, lots of flexibility with hours of work if needed.

Parking is very bad, there is a waiting list for staff parking, expensive.

Barely given shifts however when shifts are given the hours are good and the pay is great. Unreliable job however because you never know when they will give you shifts to work.

Casual Administration Officer

Casual work at Shoalhaven District Memorial Hospital, Nowra consisted of two regular days providing administrative support for Surgical Review Clinic. My colleagues were nice and friendly. I enjoyed dealing with clients. The hardest part was not knowing what time I would finish work as it depended on the number of patients attending the clinic.
