Senior Train Guard (Former Employee) –  Newcastle NSW30 July 2016
you start work at all hours of the day. prepare your train checking doors, circuit breakers, communication devices, air going through train for the brakes. then shut doors at departure times and give driver a bell that its safe to proceed. continue same routine station by station keeping passengers informed of any reasons for delays. report any safety issues to management for them to organise a fix for the problem. the co-workers in the most part are enjoyable with good attitudes. hardest part of the job was dealing with aggressive customers. the most enjoyable part of the job was working as a team with other crew and getting some weekdays off so you get time to deal with your bill payments and some recreation time with less people around
Pros
free travel
Cons
open to a lot of abuse
