Not to be taken light

You will not get good meal as staff budget is super low, you are not allow to share your opinion as it doesn't matter to the management. No one care for your well-being if you are sick either you go to work or get fire or they'll come knock at your door to come to work. Stressful environment work load will pile up on you. Expect to see 10-30 staff quit every month. Pay aren't that great based on the amount of work you'll be given this goes for all department. You are to work according to the roster no request day off. Be prepare you work will never be appreciate as they'll find issue to your work. Everything must go according to the O'reilly family if mistake you'll held responsible and email will be sent to all department for advertisement and your name will be on it.

Pros

Cheap accommodation

Cons

Bad management no training provide Guest 1st staff way down the bottom A lot of people doing drugs

Supportive

This place was one of the best place i have worked. Affordable levels of live on site accomadation, every hour worked was paid and paid the award. Some shifts were very long but i didn't mind as it was a supportive environment and loved working there. Only left because i was an apprentice and needed to gain experience in other environments.

Pros

Beautiful place to live and work

Cons

Can be very isolated without own transport

Fantastic opportunity, great lifestyle

Working at O'Reillys Rainforest Retreat was a fantastic opportunity with a great lifestyle, the staff and management were a joy to work with and also working with so many interns from different countries from all around the world was such a pleasure and unique experience. I would gladly accept my old job offer back there if the situation arose, I think very highly of O'Reillys Rainforest Retreat and will always remember this place and the people.

Stay on site job with unpaid long hours

Located around 1.5hours inland from the Gold Coast. Great nature environment, staff are mostly friendly but management structure is poor. Food and accomodation not provided - deducted from your pays. Unpaid, long work hours while staying on site. Some staff members have to be on call after work.

Pros

Great environment and view

Cons

Overloaded and unpaid work

Do not work there

Its a terrible place to live and work, the Executive chef was always high. Ridiculous hours and expectations for someone who has never worked in a kitchen before.

Reputable eco-tourism operators, great to jump start any career in hospitality and tourism

I worked from the ground up which gave me the foundations to be a successful leader and a holistic view of the organisation (not just my department). It was a fast paced, ever-changing and broad role but I enjoyed the challenge and the rewards of being part of a successful team and organisation.

Pros

Industry leaders - so good place to start your career

Fast And Busy Cafe/Retail

Mostly weekend and public holidays are quite busy. We get up to 300 to 400 pax for lunch and coffees. I have learned a lot from this company while moving around different departments. Upper management is always supportive. I have got really good team to work with they are good learners. They work really effectively under pressure. What I have learnt from experience I am confident to run even bigger department than this café and retail. The most enjoyable part of job is. I can enjoy nature and those beautiful sunsets everyday.

Pros

Lot of learning and getting more and more experience everyday

Cons

Driving i have to do for work is 150 KM everyday
