Teacher (Former Employee) - West Palm Beach, FL - 21 May 2023
Oxbridge checks all the boxes on paper. Great location, superb teachers, involved parents, great benefits, innovative approaches, etc. Unfortunately, none of these can compensate for a school that somehow has tons of administrators, but no leadership. Teacher turnover is ridiculous. The administration provides no concrete support to teachers. Even worse, their approach to almost every problem is to fire teachers and hope the problem stays hidden. This is the job that made me quit being a teacher after a decade.
Pros
Free lunches, good benefits
Cons
The administration

Untrustworthy - don't need a sentence just a word, sorry.
New Business Developer/Strategist (Former Employee) - Stellenbosch, Western Cape - 11 May 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? The management cannot be trusted What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Again, trusting the management team was my concern. I was retrenched for no reason and when I wanted to speak to the management, they referred me to HR. Even after all we had been through, showed no remorse or respect to me. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Staff are great, loyal and hard working, but I simply cannot trust management. You are just a pawn on a chess board. What is a typical day like for you at the company? Alot of meetings, which looking back were all for nothing.

Uncaring environment
Anonymous (Former Employee) - Stellenbosch, Western Cape - 3 April 2021
Staff are treated badly, management is all white and seem to not care about employee wellness. No benefits and the salaries are poor. Very high staff turnover as almost all employees are unhappy here. Management will put targets on your back as soon as you even raise any concerns with them. I feel very sorry for the students as they are subjected to slow service and receive outdated study material.
Pros
None
Cons
Poor communication. Lack of empathy. Bad management. Toxic work culture

Deceiving school/ privileged culture
Teacher (Former Employee) - West Palm Beach, FL - 21 February 2020
Students only pass courses because their parents pay big money.
Mentorship is a joke. They tell you to pass students to avoid "conflicts" with parents.
Pros
Planning schedule, meals, students willingness to succeed, resources
Cons
Lack of diversity, culture, lack of mentorship, fake attitudes, teachers inaccurately assess student work, "at-will" structure

Money does not buy happiness
Learning Support Coordinator (Former Employee) - West Palm Beach, FL - 14 January 2020
Keep your head down, walk a straight line, then only look up to kiss ***. People are fired during lunch on any given day. To get along is to go along. No matter what.
Pros
Money
Cons
job security

Could have been something great
Faculty Member (Former Employee) - West Palm Beach, FL - 23 July 2019
No solid leadership. Poor morale and work culture. Keep people who aren't good at their job for far too long. Promote people who are the biggest talkers instead of the most qualified workers. They've slowly gotten rid of everything that made it a cool place to work. Students and parents are incredibly unhappy but say teachers are great for fear of retribution. Senior exit interviews are done before transcripts get released so they all lie or hold back fearing it will affect their grade to speak up. It's miserable.
Pros
Exercise facilities, good food (not free though), matching 401k
Cons
No leadership, poor culture, incompetent people in key positions

Substitute Teacher (Former Employee) - West Palm Beach, FL - 28 February 2019
I have worked at Oxbridge Academy as a substitute teacher but no longer working there because I had very few working days. As a substitute, I worked only when teachers are absent or call off and so on. That's why I didnt get benefits or pay days vacation nothing.
Overall, I enjoyed my time there and I would recommend people to work there as long as they looking for part time jobs.

We dealt with student's and assisting them with paying their fees on time
What i learned at the company is that anything is possible as one can also study through them while working there
The most enjoyable part of my job was when i gave student's the best service and at the end of the day reaching my target.
Pros
Good company to work for as one can also study with them
Cons
Sometimes they don't acknowledge other's
