Good place to get your foot in the door. Not much support from head office and manager doesn’t have a clue what they are doing. Typical corporate experience

Autonomy

1) A typical day at work at Capalaba PSG would probably involve attending to patients' dental needs, consulting on treatment plans, and collaborating with a team of dental professionals. 2) Learning could include honing technical skills, improving patient interaction, understanding the intricacies of dental insurance plans, and gaining knowledge about new dental technologies and treatments. Management might be expected to be supportive and progressive, fostering a culture of continuous learning and encouraging professional development. 3) The workplace culture at any dental clinic should ideally be focused on patient care, respect for each other's roles, and an emphasis on teamwork and communication. 4) The hardest part of the job might be managing difficult cases, addressing patients' anxieties about dental procedures, and maintaining meticulous patient records. 5) The most enjoyable part could be seeing the positive impact of your work on patients' oral health and confidence, and the camaraderie among colleagues.

Pros

Autonomy

Cons

Dental Isolation, ATO GST dealing, LAB work debt

Have to mention staffs are really friendly and helpful, buy the managemet is bit questionable! Manager is quite understanding and flexible

Overall the place is good, staffs are really friendly and helpful, buy the managemet is bit questionable! Manager is quite understanding and flexible but most of the times she fails to be fair with everyone. they pull you up for the small thing that are wrong and never praise you on the good things you do. They don't like it when you stand up for your rights. Especially ACL doesn’t have manners to stay professional not only with staffs and dentist but with patients too. I’ve never seen someone who is self centred , who thinks very highly of herself but has the Zero positive attitude!

Not bad

Hours are long, 80% of the staff are unhappy. Management focuses on KPI’s more than patient satisfaction, have been through 3 managers in a year. High turnover of staff

Pros

Hour Lunch break

Cons

Long hours, unhappy work environment, focus on KPI’s instead of patient satisfaction

Great place to work and develop professional skills

I have been with this company for 1 year now and I have enjoyed every day. The team is great and offers support if needed. Hard work is being recognised and rewarded. The company is listening to staff concerns and is working very hard on improving processes where needed.

A typical day at work

I have been working with pacific smiles dental for a while now. And was with a different firm prior and my old firm was so much better you were recognised for your work. Since working for pacific smiles we have not received a pay rise in 5 years and they pull you up for the small thing that are wrong and never praise you on the good things you do. Infection control only applys to the staff not the dentist which is wrong the rule are there for a reason and it should abide by everyone. They don't like it when you stand up for your rights.the management of the centre is good but higher up is not as good.

Great company, great values and truly look after their people, patients and dentists

This is one of the best places I've worked! Are true to what they say about wanting to better Australia's oral health and want to look after their staff, their patients and their dentists are phenomenal. Only keep on the best dentists and those who are great are treated like royalty so they are retained. All feedback is taken on board in an effort to make it a better place to work. Always trying to improve the culture. Forward-thinking, career options and rewarded for hard work. I hope to be here for a long time

Heavy paced

Working for PSG as a male was poor, they are very female orientated. There is an expectation that you will do over your expected hours without pay or TOIL. Bonuses are very rarely paid. HR Rule the roost, upset them at your peril, as many things get lost in translation. Ensure there is a paper trail for everything, If you are promised something follow it up, as it is easily forgotten Good work is rarely rewarded,

Dont waste your time!

You may as well be a car salesman as that is how you are treated by Management, from rebookings which is expected to be above 75% daily required otherwise please explain or treatment plans or recalls. This company is not about Caring for their patients & it's "True Purpose" it's about meeting KPI's so management can get their bonuses and the staff get a pat on the back! Extremely toxic environment ! If Management would put as much effort into their staff & explaining the high staff turn over as they do into their tacky sales tactics they would have much more satisfied staff and patients!

Pros

Staff are lovely but used & abused.

Cons

Poor pay, long hours, no trust, toxic management

Great company to work for!

I have been working for Pacific Smiles Group for nearly 10 years. PSG has a great culture which includes respect, energy, passion for learning and much more. This company provides many opportunities for career progression. You can start as a Trainee Dental Assistant and end up becoming a Senior DA, an Assistant Centre Manager, a Centre Manager or even a Regional Manager. Just like every other company, PSG has gone through many changes to improve their quality of service to patients and practitioners however, they provide great support to their people throughout any internal change. Very high infection control standards and ongoing training is provided to all staff. This is a great company to work for!

Productive , fast paced

The most enjoyable part of my job is helping patients who need us. Getting to know our patients is a big thing with me it helps with treatment and makes them feel a little bit more at ease.
