Pillow Talk Employee Review

Not a nice place to work

Used and abused. Your just a number unless you suck up to manager's. Management are no help. It's all about them making there bonuses and they don't care who they step on to get it. The longer you work there the more of a threat you become. Your experience and product knowledge mean nothing

Hi there, Thank you for the time you have taken to share your experience. We are saddened to hear your time with Pillow Talk was not what you had hoped. We certainly don't view our team members as 'numbers', and feel terrible that this was your impression on departure. We would really appreciate the opportunity to gain some more insight into your experience. If you're happy to oblige please email us at peopleandculture@ptpl.com.au. Terrible upper management

I was lucky to have a few wonderful and supporting coworkers, but other than that, management and the company in general is greedy. They treat their casual just like numbers, outside the management teams, no one in retail/store level will ever get part-time or full time position, they deliberately gave you irregular hours so you can't convert to part-time/full time, so they can get rid of you anytime they want. I don't really think the company has the intention of retaining their sale assistant in the long run. You can work as hard as you want but you won't get the recognition/appreciation in return. Might be suitable to work short term, but not for long term because you can be easily burnt out at the cost of your physical and mental health and manager wouldn't even care less.

Hi there, Thank you for taking the time to provide us with feedback. I’m sorry to hear you felt this way about your employment with Pillow Talk. We assess all casual employees for possible conversion to part-time or full-time employment. Our goal is always to retain talent, where we use whatever means possible, and subsequently, we have a number of casuals that have been with us for decades. The hours that each team member is rostered comes down to the performance and availability of each casual, however, this may still fluctuate as we move in and out of peak periods. We pride ourselves on promoting from within and make all opportunities at Pillow Talk available for our internal team members to apply to, should they wish. I would really appreciate having the opportunity to speak with you further, to understand your individual experience. If you’d like to chat further, please email us at peopleandculture@ptpl.com.au. Warm Regards, Pillow Talk People and Culture Team

Physical hard work

Upper Management is toxic. Company expects far too much with few staff. Will cut hours as they please. Area managers are awful, bullying and not at all helpful to staff having problems. Constant pressure put on staff to increase kpi's and acs.

Pros

Staff discounts

Cons

Company going downhill fast
