Its an alright work place
Pharmacy Assistant (Current Employee) - Sydney City NSW - 19 April 2023
Indeed Featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedMuch better than the job I was previously at. however depending on the location or management or how you perform, you're forced into roles that arent what you are getting paid to do. For example, hired as a front of staff ending up with management responsibilities.

Bells and Whistles with stuff all in between
Pharmacy Assistant (Former Employee) - Alice Springs NT - 24 July 2023
Management seemed more concerned with profits and protocol than care and efficiency of staff; hard workers get penalised or fired whilst the slackers seem to get priority despite the high standards and face value the company claims to represent to reflect. Incompetent and indifferent management; particularly from Indian members of staff.
Pros
It's a job..
Cons
Everything else

I Enjoyed working with the staff.
Pharmacy Assistant (Former Employee) - Dubbo NSW - 20 February 2023
I have always enjoyed Pharmacy work and getting to know the customers. I felt comfortable in my employment. I learn a lot through doing courses, merchandising and learning about medication. It is also rewarding helping out people and know you have made there day by giving advice on products.
Pros
Customers.
Cons
Short breaks

Relaxed workplace with nice team members
Pharmacy Assistant (Former Employee) - Victoria - 17 September 2022
Relaxed workplace with nice and helpful team members. Good management team. Trainings (products) provided from time to time which helps all team members to get to know more about the products

Amazing environment with subpar management
Pharmacy Assistant (Former Employee) - St Kilda VIC - 17 September 2022
Whilst I loved the people I worked with and the general nature, management at this store was very harsh, and always targeted casual workers like myself who worked less than others. Got sacked for an unexplained reason even though the day prior was praised immensely and even discussed an increase in my role responsibilities, and was then ghosted following me reaching out.
Pros
Staff discount, great people
Cons
Awful management

Good and Bad
Pharmacy Assistant (Former Employee) - Lismore NSW - 19 July 2022
Liked the employees. They would rather hire more people then train the ones they have. Being on the register sucked. Hard to know where you stand with management
Pros
Free expired products
Cons
Standing all day at a register

worst workplace culture I've ever seen. staff are wannabe mean girls clique
Pharmacy Assistant (Former Employee) - Sydney Western Suburbs NSW - 5 July 2022
Was good the first 2 weeks then everyone showed their true colours. Staff members who are mostly all female act like they're still in high school and are very neglecting of new employees. poor management and zero communication skills in the workplace. hours worked are always taken away which means you are underpaid. they will set you up for failure and won't give proper training.. after hours of work an employee will claim you haven't done anything for no particular reason.

Priceline Pharmacy Forest Hill
Pharmacy Assistant (Former Employee) - Forest Hill/Carnegie Vic - 25 May 2022
This Job honestly isn’t worth it. At the start they make you feel welcome but after 3 or more weeks they make you feel worthless and like you aren’t competent at your job. the job is fast paced but they give you a million and one jobs to do at once and get mad when it isn’t done. they do not care about family emergency’s or anyone having covid as long as it brings in the $$$. the poor mental health i had when leaving was not worth my time there. i never felt appreciated in the slightest. definitely consider your mental health before joining here. the only pro was the handful of friendships i made here.

Pharmacy Assistant positionsOverworked and treated poorly
Pharmacy Assistant (Former Employee) - Forest Hill VIC - 23 May 2022
Very fast paced which is good always lots of things to do except they expect you to do 3 peoples work load and you are yelled at if you don’t finish it. Not allowed to take your breaks if you haven’t finished the job you are mid way through doing even though there’s plenty of staff that could take over or you can finish it after your break. No good for people entering into the pharmacy field you can’t ask questions without being screamed at. Very hard to learn new things as no one wants to help you without being nasty and frustrated with you. They’ll target employees bully them and bully anyone else who is nice to them. Not worth the minimum wage you will be paid.
Pros
None
Cons
Bully environment, rude staff, poor management.

Fired me with no warning because I ‘asked for help too many times’
Pharmacy Assistant (Former Employee) - Melbourne VIC - 19 May 2022
I just got fired because I apparently was not progressing enough only because I had to ask a few times how to do something in an area of the store I wasn’t very familiar with yet. I was fired with literally no warning during a ‘work review’, without a concrete excuse just a bunch of petty reasons that were honest mistakes despite never receiving any actual complaints when I was making them. I think they just hired me because they couldn’t find anyone else with more experience at the time and got rid of me as soon as my three month prohibition was up. It was honestly cruel and I’m very shocked, I didn’t expect being treated like that but I guess some people are just like that and will pretend to care just to get something out of you. Anyone else reading this please beware of employers doing this! Its not ok! Also some of the pharmacists were quite cold and condescending and made me feel uncomfortable and judged. The environment definitely felt a bit artificial when it came to staff interactions. I thought I was doing a good job, I enjoyed my interactions with the customers alot and a majority of them were very kind, some of the staff members were easy to get along with and positive to be around but in general I felt very unappreciated by the company (other than those few nice staff members) I just never really felt like they were enthusiastic about me being there other than at the start and only felt that the retail supervisors went out of their way to make me feel supported

Good job as a student, but no career progression
Pharmacy Assistant (Former Employee) - Sydney NSW - 2 May 2022
If you're a student (particularly if you're studying medical science or pharmacy), working for Priceline is a good place to gain customer service and healthcare experience. The best thing about the job is the team- having good co-workers makes working in retail enjoyable. The hours are flexible and easily accomodate a uni schedule, but the pay isn't great (i.e. minimum wage). Unless you want a career in retail or pharmacy, there are very few opportunities for career progression. Some of the companies (e.g. Blackmores, Natio etc...) do offer training days, but the workplace doesn't pay for you to attend them. Overall, I enjoyed my time working for Priceline... But, I can't imagine myself working there forever.

Fast paced, lovely girls on floor but…..
Pharmacy Assistant (Former Employee) - Maryborough VIC - 6 October 2021
Lovely customers and girls on the floor are lovely to work with but you are just a number. Under paid for what you do. White coats and dispensary are always treated differently to the other staff. To much work with to short of time to complete. Unrealistic KPIs. Management try their best but owners do not care. It used to be a family first company but now all about the profits. Not paid for time you actually worked only rostered hours.
Cons
Under paid

Interesting and rewarding job
Pharmacy Assistant (Current Employee) - St Clair NSW - 20 October 2020
Loved working with medicine and learning something new everyday but it’s a shame manger to had to ruin it for me. When I raised issues it never mattered and many customers could visibly see this and would make comments. The manager had made many people leave due to the treatment of the employees.
Pros
Enjoyed the job itself and people I worked with
Cons
Management

Unfair treatment, ridiculous expectations with minimal staff on the day
Pharmacy Assistant (Former Employee) - Geelong VIC - 30 September 2020
What you see on the outside is all for show, hard to trust staff in this workplace, management is terrible which results in the store looking terrIble. No clear instructions to daily tasks, unfair treatment to staff only to benefit management, staff members blamed for things they aren’t involved in. Training procedures are useless. Shame that a place like Priceline should be a great company to work for, even with their new rebranding but diversity is still lacking and it doesn’t look like anyone is going to do anything about it anytime soon.
Pros
Nice staff discount
Cons
Terrible Management

Iove priceline corporate store
Pharmacy Assistant (Casual) (Current Employee) - WA - 8 July 2020
I worked at priceline Belmont WA for 11 years and loved it most of the time. Depending on who your manager is makes alot of difference. Had some horrid managers but also had fab ones. Made some lovely friends and absolutely miss working at the company store. Totally different culture to working at a Priceline pharmacy. Fun to work at and love the products. Treated well .
Pros
Great place to work.
Cons
Some lazy staff members

My day at work was assisting customers, cleaning up around the store, putting new stock up and serving customers at the counter. It was a fun and enjoyable environment. I enjoyed working with my colleagues and enjoyed going to work.
