The most useful review selected by Indeedgood first job i guess but they basically left you up the front with no task to complete throughout shift. also wasn’t educated on products so was difficult to help customers.

pretty good place to work, support from your employees was good and the pay is very good compared to other jobs that I have had. It is difficult to become part-time would be the only downside

Priceline Australia insights
Areas for improvement
- Support from manager
- Sense of belonging
- Inclusive work environment
Would not recommend
Casual Sales Assistant (Current Employee) - New South Wales - 5 October 2022
The managers that i had worked with were extremely rude and petty. The job itself was very repetitive and repeating the same movements for 5-6 hours straight with only 1 15 minute break!

Easy job but it really depends on management & co-workers
Sales Assistant (Former Employee) - Victoria - 22 July 2022
A typical day involves stock replenishment, working at the register & assisting customers. If you're a casual the hours are inconsistent, some weeks you get multiple full days in a row but other weeks you barely get any hours. Fine for students/those who want extra money but aren't reliant on their own income. Pay is slightly above minimum wage. There isn't much career progression. Stick to the pharmacy branches as they seem to be phasing the non-pharmacy stores out. Staff normally consist of all women which makes sense for a beauty retailer. If management doesn't like you then good luck getting shifts. Gossip and cattiness are rampant. The free samples are a nice bonus and also help you know the products. Staff discount is isn't great at 10% off but it applies to sale items too.
Pros
- Free samples, easy-going work culture, small staff discount
Cons
- A lot of cattiness, inconsistent hours, typical retail cons

Great place to work but be prepared to learn a lot of information.
Sales Assistant (Former Employee) - Willetton WA - 10 January 2022
Priceline has been excellent to work for. They are highly focused on staff wellbeing and safety. They are passionate about providing a great experience for customers. However, there is a lot of products and information to learn, and I had no training on anything. I've learnt from casual conversations with other staff, but no specified training on skincare/makeup/other and nothing on the brands we sell. Customers expect staff to have a lot of knowledge and as a new staff member with no training, it's very hard.
Pros
Nice xmas gift, Great co workers, Great management
Cons
Staff only get 10% discount which is the lowest I have ever experienced in retail, Expected to have product knowledge with no training

terrible environment wouldnt recoment working here to anyone
Sales Assistant (Former Employee) - Woy Woy NSW - 16 August 2021
a typical day at work was getting talked about badly by other co workers, boss/manager treating staff awfully, nothing to do all day, no training, high expectations and 0 reward for when you complete a 'job' properly. management so bad in desperate need of an update of management style and way of operation.
Pros
got to leave at the end of the day
Cons
everything

Rude and unwelcoming.
Sales Assistant (Former Employee) - Brisbane QLD - 6 January 2021
I’m going to assume this was just the store I worked for and hope that every other store manager/team is much better than the ones I had to deal with. I felt very unwelcomed, my manager didn’t seem to want to have a conversation with me, same as the staff members. I called in sick once and had all my hours taken from me and I also never received the uniform I ordered.
Cons
Rude/poor management and staff. No staff discount.

Very productive and inclusive to all team members.
Sales Assistant (Current Employee) - Mount Barker SA - 12 May 2020
Overall, the experience that i have had by working at Priceline Australia had been extremely knowledgable and insightful towards my way of life and have been brought out of my comfort zone by being able to talk to customers more regularly as i was very nervous talking to people i didn't know.

Fun quiet workplace environment
Sales Assistant (Casual) (Current Employee) - Clemton Park NSW - 23 November 2019
- opening the shop and organizing it for the day
- managing customer service and behind the counter (multitasking skills)
- opening and serving at the fragrance cabinet.
- keeping the stock forward and clean throughout the day to minimize clean up in the afternoon.
- receiving scripts to pass onto the pharmacist (regarding brands) and translating any notes or comments regarding medication.
- always keeping an eye on the front counter, and never leaving it vacant, always being cautious of the floor and aware of surroundings.
- greeting every customer upon entry and acknowledging their needs and if they need any assistance.
- final pack up and cleanup of front till, dispensary, wiping benches and taking out bins.
- leaving the shop in how it was found and allowing the next employee to experience the same equal clean organised space.
- the most challenging part of the job was probably weekend shifts at around 2 o'clock in the afternoon when I was multitasking the front till and the dispensary and had to manage the whole shop in a safe orderly fashion.

productive yet boring
Sales Assistant (Former Employee) - Brisbane QLD - 14 January 2019
A typical day at this job consisted of both happy and angry customers, slow business and a lot of nothing to do. Unless you were assigned to be on the floor, behind the register I would be cleaning constantly until a customer approached. However, working on the floor would allow me to be a lot more helpful and interactive with people.
This job was enjoyable as a sales assistant. I enjoyed working with customers and having the opportunity to help them with their shopping requirements. As this was my first job, I learnt how to deal with unsatisfied customers. This was the hardest part of the job but this is something that happens in any job and you should only learn how to deal with it rather than take offence. The workplace was a very clean and safe workplace.
