Not a good place to work

What is the best part of working at the company?There isn’t they treat you like a number and that’s all I have worked all over the world and Australian jobs are the worst companies to join They forget with out the Employees that do the work they are out off business and get ridiculous labor higher Companies out off the job sector. What is the most stressful part about working at the company?There is none its upside down Xmas treeWhat is the work environment and culture like at the company?Qantas has no idea how to run A business What is a typical day like for you at the company?Definitely Depressing Job they have wrong people in management work with staff not it’s them and we are Mangers

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?Was great when I work there but apparently it is pretty bad there now. What is a typical day like for you at the company?Do 8 hours of work in 6 hours and basically paid for 3 hours.

Difficult work culture

The work itself isn't hard. You don't take any of your work home. The job it self and the given tasks aren't stressful. Its the management and politics that messes with you.

I was with the company for 26 yrs until Covid I do miss all my friends that I worked with, however things change. Expectations are high and I gave it my all.

Very intense and fast paced workplace

Very fast-paced workplace. Intense and repetitive heavy lifting is involved. Safety is a high priority with a focus on risk assessments & employee awareness. In-house training with heavy machinery and equipment but unfortunately licenses are not transferrable if you leave and find employment elsewhere. Full training is done every 2 years. Flexible working hours.

You will need steel plated shirts to work in this company. Too many back stabbers, who just want to try and climb a ladder that leads nowhere.It used to be a great work place, when everyone cared. Now, nobody gives a hoot.

Professional, informative, standard airline recruitiment procedure

It was consistent with all airline recruitment procedures . Possibly a little more comfortable and relaxed . The interviewers were very good , professional and concise and made us feel very relaxed and comfortable.

Staff are incredibly professional and fun to work with. Shift roster can be quite a challenge but you'll get the hang of it. Staff travel benefit is definitely one to look for.

Working as a flight attendant is a great lifestyle if you're good with people and enjoy travel. The crew are great but there's a snarky high school mentality and you should be prepared for sycophantic people looking to advance by a good bit of backstabbing. Be careful about who you trust! Unfortunately, management view you as merely another number. Their main focus is on maximising shareholder and management profit. They'll work you as much as possible- especially if you're new and don't have seniority. I personally was 'let go' due to taking my crew meal and a can of coke off the aircraft to eat later. This was after years of faithful service. Don't get me wrong, I love the crew! Fantastic people who make the company what it is through their amazing service. It's just disappointing that management doesn't realise that the front line staff make the company, not how much upper management receives in bonuses due to maximising share price.

Flight discounts, great culture in crew, stay in lovely places, you get to fly!

Cons

Management treats you like a number, lots of backstabbing, front line staff are not valued by management at all

Great staff travel benefits. Diverse working culture but still needs some improvement with just reporting processes. Good remuneration but with too much disparity in wages among staff in frontline roles which can cause some contention. Flexible working arrangements for some staff on the original Flight Attendant award. There has been some improvement in support for mental health issues among staff. There is excellent service and safety training which ensures quality of services delivered to our customers.

Like all airlines you are just seen as a number who is a robot to their system. A constant roll over of staff is the norm, I had 5 managers in 3 years. Terrible shift work, long hours and no recognition.

Learnt a lot of health and safety procedures Working in a very fast paced environment which was right in my comfort zone The hardest part of the job was probably just the heat you got at the back of the dishwasher... Was bareable, over all nothing bad.
