Very Flexible and also Friendly
BAGGAGE/RAMP SERVICE PERSONNEL (Current Employee) - Sydney NSW - 3 March 2020
Starting out at qantas you'd be amazed at how versatile the work environment is. You are greeted very friendly by anyone and everyone. In saying that everyone is very helpful to each other and they will always be great to each other.
The place also accommodates for any needs that you have or may need in future which is also very helpful when it comes to it.
The job may not pay a good amount about the benefits is basically what makes up for all in my opinion with the staff travel.
Training is provided for any and all positions that you wish to take on and Qantas is a great place to build a career within the aviation industry.
Management treats everyone very equally and very fairly, they care for their employees wellbeing which is great but do take safety very seriously.
There is nothing hard about the job and it just gets better and better as you progress higher.
The most enjoyable thing about working with the company is basically the job itself, it's very easy and enjoyable and also you given a large amount of down time in comparison to your average 30min lunch breaks.

Professional
Catering Assistant/ Quality Assurance (Former Employee) - Perth WA - 2 March 2020
Although now downsizing Qantas was a professional and leading business in Australia and overseas.
The Qantas Group is constantly transforming to make sure they are well positioned for the future. That’s how they keep creating value for their stakeholders, opportunities for their people and world-class experiences for their customers.
In the process, Qantas aims to have a positive impact on the broader community and minimise their impact on the natural environment. And, above all, achieve the highest standards of safety and integrity.
The Qantas Group’s approach to doing this rests on three pillars: Delivering Today, Looking Ahead, and Acting Responsibly.

Great Company
Customer Service (Former Employee) - Canberra ACT - 13 February 2020
I was with Qantas for 8 years and found it to be a great company to work for. It does have its issues with trying to save money at every opportunity and staffing level issues. Most managers seem to be reasonably suited for their roles but unfortunately there are still those occupying roles by which they are not suited.
Qantas is a company you can feel proud to work for

Amazing Company and team of co workers
Customer Service Agent (CSA) (Former Employee) - Sydney NSW Australia - 6 February 2020
No two days are the same it can be very fast paced and have some quiet time too. In the quiet times there is always something to do, restock, Catch up on any internal training, general tidy up etc
We have a very supportive team that really all look out for one another and works together when things get hectic.
You really must love customer service (I do!!) and I feel rewarded when you know you have given your best to all parts to the role, from dealing with Passengers, Management, share holders to grooming and feeling proud wearing the company uniform.
Some days can be a challenge when you have unhappy customers, but I feel its how you handle the situation to get the best outcome, you can turn a negative into a positive.
Highly recommend Qantas and the role, going to work never felt like work even waking at 3am cause I loved what I did, Had I of not moved from Australia to the USA I would never of resigned, my intention was to be there long term and continue to grow and learn in the company.
One of the saddest decisions ever was to resign, almost a year later I miss every part of working with Qantas

Eas, Enjoyable Job with Decent Benefits but average pay.
Ramp Operator (Current Employee) - Melbourne Airport VIC - 29 January 2020
Qantas is an excellent place to work, a lot of people that work there are friendly enough to get a long with and i've definitely made a few life long friends. For the work, the pay is average but that said there is a lot of benefits to working for the company.

Worked in Fibre Glass section mainly
Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Structures (Former Employee) - Tullamarine VIC - 16 January 2020
Good bunch of blokes to work with. Management can be painful sometimes and the effort to retain the apprentices once they finish is fairly poor to say the least.

The most enjoyable part of the job is the people.
Fleet Presenter (Current Employee) - Mascot NSW - 10 January 2020
Meeting some amazing people. Theses people are from all different back grounds and it’s what makes the day worth while.
Like most workplaces, you have your politics but if you stay away from that you will enjoy working at Qantas.

Not interested qantas are not interested in the employees only cutting corners there culture is not good there management structure does not take into account the person undertrained management who have no idea of the airport only put in place if they can cut corners

Overall good working environment
Baggage Handler (Current Employee) - Sydney NSW - 9 December 2019
I'm a permanent part time worker on morning shifts at Sydney International Airport. Usually starting at 6 for 5 hours. 25 hours per week. I work at a department named Interline where we handle luggage that arrive from Domestic and International flights and are moving on to another International destination.

A restricted poor working environment under the helm of current CEO
International Travel Consultant (Former Employee) - Brisbane QLD - 5 December 2019
A very fine balance between shareholders/board/CEO I think has been poorly executed at the expense of staff and passengers. A style that dominated 30years ago.

Ugly top management
Food & Beverage Attendant (Former Employee) - Sydney NSW - 25 November 2019
Great diversity among staff members. Middle management are supportive and top management are cold and ignorant, profit oriented and lack of genuinity. Short staffs and high turn over.

Be prepared. Study hard
Licensed Aircraft Engineer (Former Employee) - Sydney NSW - 24 November 2019
I’m in Engineering so training is invaluable gives you skills for life. Upon gaining type licences, your pay increases dramatically. Shift work is ok as you can work your lifestyle around your shift
