Easy Work

Indeed Featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
lots of training modules to do throughout the year, easy work but the pay is not great, lowest paying insurance company. Training is okay, could be better.

Friendly Staff

It has been many years but the staff were always friendly and supportive. Management seemed a little out of the loop. I believe they moved the offices just after I left.

Good place

Good people and good work, sometimes overloaded with work but mostly progressive and innovative for an insurance company, local team better hours than global

Unprofessional HR

The HR department is very unprofessional they don’t know who to hire. If they don’t understand an answer they refuse to even try to understand a person. Heartless place.

Other departments are very good except this one

All staff work very hard in Department in Perth office and the team support each other and all agree the manager is not respected by anyone in the team and has disgraceful interpersonal skills as well as lies but because she has good knowledge and the manager above likes the person as well as Qbe senior management keep this manager in the role, not knowing how the team really feels as they are to scared to say anything. The manager was in another department and moved due to same issues

Pros

In the city and team members very nice

Cons

Not enough staff and team manager & national manager don’t support team

Good work / life balance

Good work / life balance. No pressure to return to the office post-Covid. Culture is good in the parts of the organisation that I'm familiar with. Nice new offices in Sydney and Parramatta.

Good team culture but too many redundancies.

Good team however regular redundancy does upset. Limited growth - most people in Brisbane office are friendly- many diffeeeent teams and they work in silos

Pros

Hybrid

Cons

Cyclical business

Stressful, toxic, nepotism, disrespectful, discrimination, politics, unhealthy

I worked in personal lines for over 1.5 years, it was a torture. If you know someone there, you can pretty much get away with not doing much work, getting full pay and promotions too. Qbe as a company has good policies for their employees as a whole but the management in personal lines is very toxic. Too much politics, nepotism etc etc, high constant staff turnover. I wouldn't build my career here or trust the management. Hope things change eventually the management is booted out.

Pros

Good policies, training, benefits only if your TL and immediate management allows you to use it

Cons

Toxic management, nepotism, politics, unhealthy sick environment, untrustworthy

Pros

Flexible hours RDO, opportunity to develop

Cons

Can be unfair if you get a unprofessional supervisor

Please think twice before entering this organisation.

The company in personal lines is in crisis. Constant computer issues, they ask for your suggestions you make, but it goes in one ear and out the other. I did not enjoy the management team and the politics that went on. Discrimination, disrespect, and favoritism play a major part. although they are usually careful to not do it openly. Management, Culture, Work-life balance in terms of mental health and stress caused for this toxic environment.

Pros

Pay not too bad

Cons

Favouritism and bullying plays a major part.

Not as advertised

Joined a month ago and looking desperately to leave. There is intimidation and almost threats form the Phillipines shared service. They day they are onboard about a project but they sabotage it. This is because there is no leadership getting teams aligned to a strategy. Wouldn’t recommend it to my worst enemy.

Pros

Money paid on time- but that’s through the recruiter

Cons

Management, Culture, Work- life balance in terms of mental health and stress caused for this toxic environment

Busy but supportive workplace

Socially aware employer, consistent across the globe. Strong Australian base. Busy workplace but much support is available. Interesting and varied work. Strong cultural elements are easily identifiable

People/Work culture need to improve

I didn't enjoy working here although I was here for very short period of time. The senior management or board members lack the potential to make effective plans, also in decision making and showing commitment. Teams are not collaborative and help one another when needed. It does encourage work life balance though.

Austral Mercantile

The interview process was clear and efficient. The management made quick and fair offers for the role. The role was explained and training was comprehensive. I would recommend joining this company to anyone who wants a team that cares.

Pros

Great Pay, Quick responses

Cons

work hours are not flexible

Fun and collaborative workplace

A fun workplace where people genuinely care about the work they do and the people around them. A collaborative culture which supports development, flexible working arrangements and always looking for ways to build the culture and support staff. It is a fast paced environment with challenging work but the people make it rewarding and a pleasure to come to work each day.

Pros

Collaborative, fun culture. Located close to the station

Cons

Fast based environment and can be challenging work

Very productive and fun place to work at

A typical day at work would be dealing with numerous customers and their requirements. Enjoyed training sessions that evolved around our day to day. The most enjoyable part was working for a team that cares for each other even when times are tough with the job.

Not for everyone

The role details at the interview and title was very different to what the role turned out to be. Management is more focused on discussing their lastest shopping parcels than helping out with the backlog of work load. Management tried to act more like your friend than your boss, wanting to know all about your personal life only for them to discuss your details in front of everyone to hear and with higher management.

Great pay rate

management was a joke. No one knew how to do anything in terms of helping new staff that had been hired. Training was barely offered when it was desperately needed.
