Network Control Officer Mayne

Great place to work..... Mostly. Used to be a lot better back in the day. The colleagues are amazing and there is almost an over commitment to safety. QR knee jerks all it's safety standards off of past incidents so they're excessive. Pay is good/amazing however management are trash. They promote people who have no interpersonal skills so you're left with cold unhelpful and rude managers that want to throw you under the bus at any chance. We got marked off on an attendance sheet at the start and end of our shifts like a child at school so yeah that's the type of managers they have. They Trust us with millions of dollars of infrastructure and the safeworking of the network but mark us off on a roll like children.

Great Job Security, fair pay with shift allowances and overtime rates.

You are required to have great customer service skills and be able to maintain a safe workplace. Work colleagues are helpful and fun. The workplace culture is great. The shiftwork is the hardest thing about the job, however you are rewarded with shift allowance, an extra weeks holiday annually and good overtime rates.

Corrupted company

Good pay but horrible hours. They promise you “life work balance” which is not true, cause they make you work very crazy hours around the clock. If you are single you will have no social life and you have a family/partner you’ll never get to see them or do things together. There’s absolutely no chance of career advancement unless you are related to someone higher up in the company. Very corrupt company and too much nepotism goes on.

Excellent perks and salary, horrible work culture and poor management

Positives - Excellent salary providing stability, great perks of travelling and leisure during layovers. Negatives - Extreme lack of support between colleagues especially with new staff. Toxic bullying within the work environment. Managements lack of awareness with what actually goes on onboard the train therefore lacking the support needed towards vulnerable employees. The bad work culture makes the positives not worth it.

Start by saying or lead to saying for Example. Read and research the companies values and strategic dirrection that will encompass from what I remember in first place is a shared portfolio including Code of Conduct is important to familiar with of whats expected and Safety which is a Zero harm workplace environment. Second place would be Customer service Charter relating building genuine relationships internally and externally. They will always want examples of how you would conduct yourself be prepared for random examples and if you know the above I am sure you will relay what they expect to hear.
