The most useful review selected by IndeedIf you have year's of experience you will start on same rate as new starter with no experience if you haven't got paperwork in at least 3 times you may not have any payments monthly pay and depends who it goes to,ring HR they say we may get back to you with in 5 day's even if you have worked for 5 weeks and told; you don't have to do anything more but wait so be prepared to wait long periods for satisfaction

Gym good, need down time, basketball area, recreation area, rooms pretty clean, friendly group of people everyone saying hi, we all try and get the job done

No two (2) days were the same. Training always available, Management
had an open door policy and were available for guidence when needed.
Advancement policy within the business was promoted.

Used to be good than it became about production everyone gets paid different no training at all got bosses driving around trying to pick things wrong just very unhappy site people backstab each other

Advanced Refinery Operator - Alumina Refinery (Former Employee) - Nhulunbuy NT - 30 April 2019
Worked in many different positions and levels during several years working in this remote environment. Made many friends and had many lifelong experiences that rate very highly, before the company unfortunately closed down and ceased operation.

It's a bit hard to explain because we hardly get training on other machinery due too certain rules they don't practice what they preach, and Weipa with the lowest paying mine but the high rent

Mine Operator (Former Employee) - Weipa QLD - 30 December 2016
Heavy vehicle operator on a 4 on and 4 off roster. This includes 12 hour shifts. Repetitious work all year round in a relative safe workplace. Relatively easy job but working long hours. Enjoy the fishing on days off. Back and neck pain resulting from the nature of work.

12.5hrs shift split roaster day/nights very busy pit with a lot of machinery working close ,
To interact with other work mates to make the every day task safe how to operator machines more productively
How management roll plays a vital part in the mines progress
To have a good working relationship with co-workers
To be away from family and friends
To train someone new to operate heavy machinery and see them progress forward

I liked flying every week on a 7/7 roster a lot of fun operating different bits of gear, meeting new people and feeling like a second home.

Safety high Priority at Rio Tinto

Work roster and conditions are excellent. Flights are direct to site. Most management are very helpful and accommodating when necessary. Work colleagues are mostly cooperative and helpful, occasionally there may be a minor communication problem but rarely.

I enjoyed working at brockman 4 with Rio tinto. The lifestyle is good and family friendly I enjoyed it as you were given food clothing electricity and water free which is a bonus.

Mine Operator. Great people

Weipa wonderful lifestyle, but housing is to expensive and the general cost of living is rediculous. Losts of favouritism within the teams which is really bad. can't complain about the rest of my job though I love what I do.
