Shock and awe, if you can not deal with the first four weeks apart from your phone and with no contact with family and friends do not bother applying. Lots of exercise, marching and general instruction on expected defence force behavior and the consequences if you do not follow these instructions. After the first four weeks life gets better. You will get pushed out of your comfort zone in a controlled manner.
