Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital (RBWH) is Queensland’s largest hospital and provides a wide range of clinical services in the heart of Brisbane. RBWH employs more than 8,000 multidisciplinary staff that together provide more than one million episodes of life-saving treatment each year.
I worked at the RBWH for over a decade and, in that time, I saw the quality of nursing, medical and allied health care skyrocket. It was an absolute pleasure to work in a friendly, respectful and egalitarian work culture full of diversity and, dare I say, fun. I loved it immensely.. and the quality of patient care was, on the whole, very good. but, Alas, as one ages, the adrenals become worn out (!) with prolonged intensity.. and shift work also takes its toll. In short, my aging body said it was time to leave! But.. would I recommend it as a workplace to experience. Absolutely!! Give it a go..
Not great place to work stressful and awful, management treat you terribly and call you constantly. I only stayed one month, it was awful and I’ve worked at some terrible places.
Easy going and very friendly. Never top afraid to ask questions and responded in a quick and timely manner. Very professional in their work ethic and one knew where one stood.
During my time on RBWH wards, I learnt more than how to be a nurse. I learnt how to work as a team, communication skills, gained friendships and connected with our staff and patients.
Been on 3 placements at the RBWH. Staff were active in my learning experience.
Facilitators, challenged and promoted a good working experience.
overall a good environment to learn.
