Rest Home Hospital Co=ordinator (Former Employee) – Wellington – 17 July 2012
I was a Care Manager or Co-ordinator of a Resthome hospital level care comprised of 60 Residents within a Retirement Village which had a Hospital and independent living. All my days extremely busy responsiible to ensure all residents had the correct care i had several Dementia care wanderers and Pallative care Respite from Surgery. I implemented Drs rounds and liased with physio Pharmarcist etc. I reviewed and did all the Care Plans on admission and six monthly review i meet with relatives. I was responsible for Care Giving staff Cleaners I did rosters for Care givers and has i was involved in restructure began to roster and utilize other registered staff as the company agreed I also had nursing students who came and did placement. I organised training for staff and a peer review at handover times. I reported to a Clinical Manager and Nurse Manager of the facility. My Job was a challenge trying to acheive everything in a day and meet deadlines with with auditors coming to do spot checks and reviews also staff didnt speak good english so i had to learn to listen and communicate effectively. I really enjoyed seeing my Staff were happy with improvements i made, and the support i got from relatives I learnt to have a timeframe in a day and realise it may not always eventuate that everyone is human and to enjoy what i was doing, keep a balanced perspective.
