Customer Service Officer in Essendon Fields VIC
on 15 August 2022
Good place to work, nice colleagues, coffee and tea provided, good kitchen facilities
most of the floor walkers had no previous training as we all started around the same time and therefore not really equiped to help with complex enquiries. Most of the trainers returned to other sites after the training ended and we were left to muddle through ourselves. Frustrating, long wait times for customers.

Stressful
Extremely stressful. 10% of what you are taught is the information you need the rest your expected to learn on the fly. Kpis are ridiculous. Team leaders are useless and judgemental.

Disappointing work ethics
Very disappointing to work for and management don’t care about the their team. Leaving unqualified staff to defend for themselves is very unprofessional
Trainer then back to customer service in Essendon Fields VIC

Pay rate not very good
Working for a company like Serco I thought would be secure but losing the contract to one of their jobs made us all realise this is not really working for the government and it is not secure. Although there is movement to grow that may dissapear if they lose a contract which is what happened to me. Just as I got may ideal position I lost it within a month and had to go back to answering phones.
