Dodgy
Console Operator (Former Employee) –  Wandandian NSW29 March 2019
Underpaid: operators are paid less than minimum wage and far less than award wage. wouldn't hand over payslips when asked. lack of staffing meant that you would frequently work more than would be required. Wouldnt be an issue if they paid correctly for it.

Absolutely loved working with Shell
Temporary Assignments (Former Employee) –  Perth WA7 March 2019
A fantastic office location, close to public transport and hop across the road to be in the central CBD. Clean tidy and security conscious. There is also a huge selection of cafes, lunch bars and restaurants and a GYM outside with areas inside Shell building providing beautiful lunch or hang out areas or for some peace and quiet times
Pros
Coffee machine and views
Cons
mmmm...maybe the aircon could be cooler in summer months

There is a great work/lifestyle balance.

Shell have moved out of the downstream marketing area
Project Engineer (Former Employee) –  North Fremantle WA12 October 2018
Like all marketing oil companies Shell is trying to get out of the downstream area. The company was losing interest in that area when I was there. The people in the downstream area were trying to maintain a business that the company was allowing to pass away.
Pros
Nice office in good location
Cons
Nonsense culture

Lack of communication
Service Station Attendant (Former Employee) –  Jindabyne NSW5 February 2018
The Shell is an easy place to work and since you work on your own you have a lot of freedom. It gets extremely boring at times, and you rarely get the chance to communicate with management/staff members.

Supporting personnel working offshore was exciting and challenging. Being involved in the emergency response team taught me to respect safety and dangers of offshore life. We worked hard and played hard which was a memorable part of my life

A typical super major oil and gas company
Senior Reservoir Engineer (Current Employee) –  Brisbane, Qld20 June 2017
Common pros and cons of working in a large organisation; room for people to hide and room for people to move on. Good working conditions, but opportunities to move globally are very limited for those people surviving mergers from the acquired companies. Very biased towards 'Shell people' and elements of the culture can be stifling. Generally an ok place to work, but probably not suitable for those used to working for midcaps and smaller E&P companies.
Pros
Good work, good pay, good working conditions
Cons
Very slow and process driven, limited options for global movement
