Great Culture At Headquarters
Field Sales Engineer (Former Employee) –  NA8 April 2019
Working remote at Silicon Labs can be rough. My situation was unique in that I had very little support from my manager and thus had almost no exposure to headquarters to receive credit for the work I was doing. I saw no path to career advancement. I was forced to dig myself into a hole, constantly putting out fires at small customers rather than having the freedom to focus on growing revenue and building relationships at larger customers. I was not allowed the opportunity to pursue a strategy to grow revenue, but instead told to cast a wide net and support every small customer under the sun. My personal experience aside, Silicon Labs is a good company to work for. The year I spent at headquarters was wonderful, and the company culture can't be beat. If you have an opportunity to work at headquarters, take it.

Operations Technician (Former Employee) –  Austin, TX16 March 2019
Great place to work, snacks and water provided on every floor in both buildings. Great supervisors on both day and night shift. They work with you if you have any struggles during the learning process.
Pros
Free lunches here and there and pool table any time
Cons
Didn't do enough for activities for night shift as they did for day shift employees

Silicon Labs is a fast-growing company with an edge in chip design. The salaries and benefits are competitive. The company makes great efforts to try to be as communicative as possible with its far-flung satellite offices all over the world.

Silicon Labs has an amazing, relaxed workplace. Despite the amount of tech advancement that comes out of this place, it is still very encouraged to keep your work-life balance.

Brilliant technical staff
Hardware Engineer (Former Employee) –  Hillsboro, OR1 March 2018
There are some very bright engineers working at Silicon Labs. Engineers of any experience level likely have something to learn from their operations and design flows. New hire training is lacking for the remote design teams, but a more seasoned engineer won't have trouble picking up the routine.

Smartest co-workers you will ever have
Senior Applications Engineer (Former Employee) –  Austin, TX8 January 2018
Silicon Labs has done a great job of assembling a highly talented workforce. Whether you are in technical or administrative work, you get to interact with super sharp people every day. Compensation is very good (although the glory days of big ESPP gains may be behind them). Work life balance and respect for peers is also very good.
Pros
Challenging work and smart colleagues
Cons
Downtown commute

Midsize company with growing pains
GRC / Security Administrator (Current Employee) –  Austin, TX28 July 2017
Silabs has a very entrepreneurial culture. Management is good about leaving people alone to do their jobs. Work life balance is important at this company, and it shows.

Because it's still small, people often wear many hats. It is rare to be bored, and there is always the opportunity to learn something new.
Pros
Good work life balance, good benefits
Cons
Limited opportunity for advancement

productive in terms of learning and fun place
Internship in digital design (Current Employee) –  Oslo18 April 2017
A typical day at work is very productive in terms of learning and experience. There are regular meetings that allows to learn from other colleagues. Work culture is very good and all the people are totally cooperative and helps you learn more. The enjoyable part of the job is that it helps you learn new things easier and faster and the hardest part is difficult to find.

Great Place to work
Web Team Intern (Former Employee) –  Austin, TX3 January 2016
At Silicon Labs I worked with a mentor to write programs for the company. I learned a lot from my mentor and everyone on the team was very helpful and encouraging.

The hardest part of the job was learning the programming language in such a short time -- it was also the most enjoyable part of the job.

Excellent Place for Interns
Software Engineering Intern (Former Employee) –  Austin12 October 2015
I got opportunity to intern at Silicon Labs, Ausitn in Summer 2015.
It is a big company but in its core it works like a startup so the culture is very open and full of learning. You can approach to seniors and discuss the issues you are facing and get guidance how to proceed. Also, you have enough scope to build upon on your own ideas and solutions.

Smart Work Environment with unclear direction
Networking Software Engineer (Former Employee) –  Austin27 September 2015
Great company focusing more on IoT for future growth. Engineers were knowledgeable and were willing to entrust large projects to you. You'll learn a lot of new technologies if you work here! Sometimes, it felt that the environment encouraged staying late to work. Part of this is because the company is trying to establish itself in some very competitive markets such as IoT.

Overall great experience!
Pros
Good Compensation, Smart Engineers, Nice Location
Cons
Work Life Balance tilted towards work sometimes, not clear how successful the company will be in the future
