Fun place to work and friendly environment
Lead Generator (Current Employee) - Byron Bay NSW - 15 August 2023
Indeed Featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedStart the day making your coffee on site and having an interactive meeting to set goals for the day. Constantly help from experts on how to improve sales and more knowledge about the products we sell. Everyone cares about how you're doing. Making it fun and enjoyable. The hardest part is to set your mind that you can do it but the managers always help you out, just need a grown mindset which they encourage everyday. Love to come to the office and see everyone smiling and ready to sale.
Pros
BBQ Fridays

Fun and Energetic workplace with lovely bosses and managers
Lead Generator (Current Employee) - Byron Bay NSW - 15 August 2023
Super fun and rewarding workplace. Really pushes you to do your best and make lots of sales. Typical day of work involves call people up who have enquired or sat an appointment for solar and trying to book them in for an appointment. Bosses and owners are lovely.

It was very degrading and overall not a good place to work
Telesales (Former Employee) - Byron Bay NSW - 10 August 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? The only good thing was Free food and alcohol. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Get abused by customers and the boss displaying a leads score board of all the staff. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? The only care about getting leads and the money. They don’t care about staffs well-being What is a typical day like for you at the company? Get there. Have a group meeting. Do a cringy hoo-rah, then sit on the computer for hours. Then lunch. Then you go home at the end of the day.

Great Workplace and Amazing Work Culture
Lead Generator (Current Employee) - Byron Bay NSW - 3 August 2023
One of the best companies I've worked for. Everyone is so friendly and funny. It's always a workplace I recommend to people. So much opportunity to progress further in the company if you put the work in. Good pay and gets better after you gain more skills. Friday's you have beers, BBQ and finish early. What more can you ask for? Nothing...
Pros
work culture, fast paced, work/life balance
Cons
Not a lot

Excellent Work Culture - work with incredible and inspiring people
Lead Generator (Current Employee) - Wollongong NSW - 3 August 2023
I came to smart energy with little experience in sales but was immediately made to feel welcome and supported. My manager and colleagues were very helpful in answering any questions I had and also gave me great advice and pointers which helped me grow and understand where i could improve. Since starting I have managed to progress from a lead generator to a BDM position in a short amount of time.
Pros
Enjoyable work culture

Great work environment with opportunities for promotion
Lead Generator (Current Employee) - Wollongong NSW - 2 August 2023
When I got the job with Smart Energy in 2018 I had no sales experience but was willing to learn. I have enjoyed working outside and learning how to improve my sales skills. The morning meetings are great as you go over any issues you may have run into the previous day, so there’s always an opportunity to get guidance and extra training if necessary. The Wollongong sales manager has a lot of experience so it’s great to have someone to look up to for advice and motivation.
Pros
No previous sales experience required
Cons
Requires self motivation so the role may not suit lazy people

Fast-paced workplace, nice people, not enough pay
Lead Generator (Former Employee) - Sydney - 26 June 2023
This is a typical sales job where you are constantly expected to generate leads. The staff were lovely to work with. The commission pay is fair for a Lead Gen however you have to wait at least 3 weeks before you recieve the money, and you don't recieve your commission after leaving the company (make sure you read the contract in full).

Good
Customer Service Officer (Former Employee) - Melbourne VIC - 12 October 2022
Ok work role, moderate responsibility and renumeration. Standard lunch breaks, some good people as like with all jobs. Some challenges, but that is to be expected like other jobs.

Lead Generator (Current Employee) - Hobart TAS - 8 August 2022
I have genuinely had no complaints about working here. This job is perfect for aspirational and motivated entry-level salespeople, as well as anyone who performs well in a performance-based role. I love the work I’m doing, my workmates, and the company culture.

Exciting industry and lovely colleagues
Account Manager (Current Employee) - Work from Home - 1 August 2022
I love working for SE. I feel extremely blessed to have been welcomed into an office that understands the value of its employee's. In the time I spent at the Byron HQ, I genuinely looked forward to waking up, working away in the office, alongside some real cool cats. I believe that the culture at Smart should be the standard for all businesses today. I like being allowed to work independently, having a knowledgeable and capable team to support me, building relationships with electricians nation-wide and being rewarded for how hard I work via commission.

If you're looking for something fast-paced and rewarding - Smart is for you!
Customer Success (Current Employee) - Byron Bay NSW - 1 August 2022
Smart Energy is a great environment to work for and amazing for those looking to really develop their skills and knowledge. Being a start-up company, Smart encourages new ideas and workplace practice recommendations and suggestions, which allows for a lot of freedom and collaboration with your other colleagues. While the work is very fast-paced and not for the faint of heart, it is well worth the vibe and environment. The free coffee machine gets bonus points as well.
Pros
Great work environment, skill development, encourages collaboration, coffee machine
Cons
Very fast-paced (not a con for the right person)

Countless opportunities to grow and learn - Great insight into a successful energy start-up
Recruitment Manager (Current Employee) - Byron Bay NSW - 1 August 2022
In my time at Smart Energy, I have seen career progression that most well established companies would never be able to offer in such a short period of time. Although, at times it can be stressful, fast-paced and autonomous, given the nature of a start-up, Smart Energy also offers the opportunity to learn, introduce new systems/processes and contribute to its growth. I love our Byron HQ office environment! We all have a great working relationship and I look forward to coming to work everyday!
Pros
Pet friendly office, Regular team outings, Friday weekly wins catch up, Supportive team culture, Coffee machine!

Lead Generator (Current Employee) - Launceston TAS - 1 August 2022
Absolutely love working for smart energy have never had a job like this before only been working for a month but it has been the best experience I’ve had. The connect I have with my team is like a family and friends all at once we all laugh, support and give feedback when feedback is due. Definitely would recommend working for smart energy as you can make good money and actually start being financially stable. Really easy to help with anxiety or any other issues your going through, definitely has helped me out. But thank you smart energy for this opportunity and I will always put in my 100% worth.
