I liked the staff i had onsite. However the work load was huge and the opportunity for work life balance were few.I felt that I did not get a lot of support and little recognition for achievement. I was micromanaged in the end and left due to this.

Poorly Managed Kitchen

Severe lack of training available, kitchen staff expected to simply know what the schedule is without instruction. Management and chefs too preoccupied with office politics to care about effective training

I've been working around 4 years as night shift PCA. I enjoyed working there and being company with good rssidents. Nice facilities and great co workers but a bit poor management.

I would work for Southern Cross again....... Offer me a position I'll start same day......Corporate are just lovely and very welcoming. Really enjoyed and felt like this place is amazing I felt so lucky. Southern Cross are to me a beautiful and I privileged as I know as I've worked proudly for them for 6.5 year's. Thank you. When it comes the care and security and the love for the residents is priceless. THEY REALLY DO MATTER AT SOUTHERN CROSS CARE........

Very bad workplace culture

Senior staffs love to bully juniors . Very challenging atmosphere . Management does not care . Few staffs are verbally abusive at marian nursing home southern cross care

what to say worst experience of my life the way these people are treated. paying for maintenance but they don't get instead being told get a family member to do what you want , yet they pay for maintenance? to add maintenance staff having inappropriate behave with nurses whilst on site l i have never come across this in my life what is wrong with you people this is a place where they are wanting to rest and retire not to be treated like caged animals ! POW SOLGIERS WERE TREATED BETTER THAN THIS! YOU SHOULD TAKE A GOOD HARD LOOK AT YOUR SELVES.

The environment to work in is very friendly. Generally very relaxed amongst the employees and does not carry alot of pressure . However, Southern Cross Care does has a culture of nepotism within the ranks of leadership & workplace bullying. Not the greatest for hourly rate of pay. Could find better elsewhere.

Toxic higher management, creating toxic facility management Bullying and harassment at its finest

Over the last few years the organisation has changed from a care home that was warm and homely to a business that is cold and empty. The leadership are bullies from the top down. The board has to really look at who they have assigned to be leaders because it’s not under the values of HEART

Toxic culture stemming from the top

Vindictive, unempathetic and toxic management which is felt by all throughout the organisation. Huge turnover, expectation to work 24/7 with little to no appreciation or regard for wellbeing. Very backwards organisation with no flexibility. Scary and sad to think that these people are running an aged care organization that so many vulnerable lives depend on. If you are looking for a progressive organisation with great leadership, career development and people at the forefront of their values - you won't find it here.

Bad pay for very demanding and demeaning work.

Very low pay, they never give pay rises. They are refusing to update the enterprise bargaining agreement that is years out of date. No opertunity for advancement. Good facilities. Good team members. Management constantly changing. Complaints fall on deaf ears. Very relaxed about sick days and annual leave. Lots of shifts available.

Management does not care at all about their employees. They put the blame on the staff and take no responsibility for pretty much anything. I’ve had the worst working experience of my life working for them. HR will not help you, they do not address the problems. Understaffed, overworked and underpaid, most staff are struggling to stay afloat, so high turnover. I’m leaving due to management issues. Most care staff are lovely, hardworking people, and deserve so much better.

Loved my time working in Bombala just loved the residents

The company was great to work for pay was good! It was a shame that there was so much work place bullying that never got addressed by management! I have returned to community care due to the lack of support in the facility I was working in which is a same as I love supporting the residents and their families.

Don’t over care for the residents . Management don’t support u they don’t care about the staff or residents.I love my job in aged care until I worked at southern cross , mentally it’s not a good place to work
