Be on your A game at all times
Assistant Editor (Current Employee) –  New York, NY12 July 2019
SpringeNature is an okay-ish organization to work at but if you work in--or would like to work in the Editorial Department... just know that you will also be handling customer service, legal texts, and finances/accounts payable work. Editorial is the one department that's expected to put out all of the inevitable fires that occur here on a daily basis.

Also, don't expect to hear your numbers/goals until several months after they've gone into effect.

Not a lot of chances for upward mobility.

Good work culture
Editorial Associate (Former Employee) –  Pune, Maharashtra26 March 2019
The day to day work is good, sometimes stressful. The immediate supervisors are very helpful, and the management tries to help the employees as much as they can always.

Relaxed work environment, but no room to grow
Production (Current Employee) –  New York, NY22 May 2018
The environment at Springer Nature is relaxed and there were rarely times when I felt pressured to put in additional hours. Vacation time is generous and the benefits were pretty good.

That said, communication with management could use improvement. Projects were often started without clear direction. There is no room for growth and not really any opportunities to advance. I felt a lot of talent is wasted and management does not value individual employees.
Pros
Casual work environment, friendly coworkers, nice benefits
Cons
Lack of communication from management, low salaries, lack of growth opportunities

SpringerNature has a great culture but it lacks strategic thinking and they do not invest in technology. There a perks such as summer Fridays and generous vacation days, but that is balanced out by low pay.

Licensing Manager (Former Employee) –  New York, NY19 January 2018
My review is bound to be out of date, as I haven't been there since the merger with Nature. Overall, Springer was a decent place to work, but compensation was low for the amount of work we did.
