Debt Officer in Maroochydore QLD Stressful workplace but reliable work though with crazy hours
This job is not for the faint-hearted. It is pressure plus to perform and if you always strive to do your best and achieve it, you will be rewarded. If not, you plod through a quagmire of irritable days where stupidity from clients and tax agents alike can make you literally want to pull the hair out of your head. Thankfully, the lolly trolly, sausage sizzles, sandwich and popcorn days and themed months add some light entertainment to your day and fill your stomach while trapped within a two foot radius from your desk. Be warned, weight gain is part of the job. But this job has its benefits. If you do your job, your hours become regular and can be relied upon and the feeling is so great when you convert a scared customer into one who believes you have truly helped them and they breathe a sigh of more than relief, gratitude. That's the best!

Customer Solution Specialist in Brisbane Friendly but they sack based on seasonal demand
DO NOT EMOTIONALLY INVEST YOURSELF INTO THIS COMPANY. KEEP YOUR CARDS CLOSE TO YOUR CHEST.
Probation mysteriously ends the same time as the busiest period. The job seems good at first but the people I've started with are all falling away and the center is shrinking in numbers. I'll be sacked soon. I keep seeing empty desk amounts grow day by day. People that won prizes or "incentives" for great performance in the first 2 months of probation are now not offered permanent work for all of a sudden having poor performance.
What they do is "train" you and say about your impacts on the business and how you have to follow scripting when dealing with clients. The script really is just designed so they don't have to spend resources on training you. You'll see what I mean if you work there. The first month was a nightmare due to the fact that customers ask questions that are not on the script. You then have to call for floor support and/or technical specialist support. Before you know it, you've hurt your statistics. And they use those on you for performance reviews.
One would think if you study hard to be more efficient you won't need the script but you'll get in trouble if you're seen not being able to find it. In my opinion the script is designed to keep you dependent on the other departments. Because the scripts are not complete and they cannot replace actual training. The other problem is if your stats aren't what they want you get accused of not having enough assumed knowledge (that's outside of the script.) so you can't really win or have a leg to stand on to protect yourself.
The other thing Stellar uses as a selection criteria is some thing called the mcquaig word survey. Practically a personality profiling test. Basically they want you select the same things over and over to trick you for inconsistencies. Make sure you choose docile sort of words such as "submissive" and stay away from words like "strong willed".
Overall, you'll get motivated and boosted when the thick of the work is needed to be done (because that makes them money) and they don't care about the occasional mistake here and there. And then you'll get slammed on absolute nitpicking issues towards the end of the busy period/probation and probably get asked to leave despite having a green scorecard.
