Best job!
The overall experience from the job interview to now being about a month into my job has been super positive. In the interview they asked me what my pronouns are which I later realised that where I work a lot of staff are they/them and it’s a gay location. We have an open bar which I’ve worked two shifts on and when I told my manager that I wasn’t enjoying bar they said that it wasn’t a problem and that I wouldn’t be rostered on bar in the future.Escape rooms are fun but they’re not so fun to reset as it’s kinda spooky to go in there, especially going to reset garden as there is a clown and a scarecrow.Arcade is fun, however getting people who are drunk to play the games properly as to not break them can be 50/50, some will listen when you tell them how much they’ll be out of pocket if it breaks, and others will not care.Security are friendly, I’ve had security actually help me when at reception there are so many customers and they helped get shoes for customers. They check ID at 8 o’clock and deal with rowdy customers so staff don’t have to, which is safer for staff.Managers are super friendly, push you to do things because they know that you can succeed.Cleaning up at the end of the night can take a lot of time but it’s never just you, even opening there are other people around to help out, (not sure why someone said it was just them)Staff get discounts so it’s also a place staff go for fun and drinks when they’re not working.Overall, best job I’ve had

Staff is only good thing
Head office managers are rude and inconsistent.Venue staff and managers were only good thing about the job No work life balance. Double standards.Expectations are too high for pay. Always have a excuse for not for filling what they promised

It can be a great place and it can be a challenge
It seems that everyone has different experiences with this company.I noticed cliques at my particular venue and if you weren't actively a part of a community the same as the staff there you were isolated and not involved. Opening shifts were always a pain. Expect to not only open both bars by yourself which could both be left disgusting from the previous night (you were expected to clean up the mess made by closing staff which provided less time for you to do your duties within an hour and if you were over an hour opening you were kind of told off by the manager on duty). Expected to carry very heavy heaters outside on top of the tables and chairs which made me have back pains and a lot of bruises on my legs. One thing I did enjoy was the cocktail and food classes/nights which we we got a chance to try ourselves plus taught how to make the drinks.I also enjoyed attending the escape rooms (before they were removed). Was able to be imaginative and create an atmosphere for people. We'd give them blindfolds and then mislead them in a line to confuse as to where they were going. Always a pleasure seeing others have a fun. However you'd be bar tending while helping people out in the rooms which at some times could provide a challenge when it was only you or extremely busy at the venue.Had a few regulars who were always a nice touch to the job as a sign of familiarity.Security guards are around at night only.

Being a casual is great for upskilling
Management level is not worth the stress and low job/home life. No over time and bullying training managers making being a manager of a store not even worth it.

Busy hospitality/entertainment workplace that is at most times fun to work in
Strike bowling is a busy hospitality/entertainment workplace that is at most times fun to work in. Sometimes it can be stressful when things go wrong (bowling lanes break down, communication between functions team and venue team is lacking etc) and some times there can be demanding customers that want more than what we can provide but we do our best and in the end its all okay becuase it's just a bowling alley.
