Back stabbing, supers have no clue
Welder/pipefitter (Former Employee) - Ravenswood QLD - 24 March 2022
pre starts are - you know what you're doing, right? I learnt not to trust anybody there. management have no clue what's going on. most of the boys are good but you need to watch a few. hardest part of the job for all the boys was not having the right gear or tools for the job, and having to wait 2-3 weeks to get it. most enjoyable was getting paid you're under paid rate.

Boilermaker/welder (Former Employee) - Brisbane QLD - 7 November 2018
Good people to work for on the management side very appreciated but the workshop foremen r bully's and don't take kindly to the guys that work on site. I was asked by the project manager on the site I was working on if I liked working out doors and I told him I loved it and I felt healthy for it word got back to the workshop foremen and when I had to work back in the workshop the former told me to f...off back to site where I wanted to be I tried to laugh it off and then again they told me to f... Off back to where I came from then a bloke I worked with stepped in and said he had some work for me but every time I walked in the office they give me a hard time till I just couldn't get out of my car to clock on to listen to them try turn everyone against me I was out casted
Pros
7/3:30 and plenty of over time if u want it
Cons

dont be fooled
Boilermaker - FIFO (Former Employee) - Gladstone, QLD - 30 June 2014
Dont be fooled by sun's company statement, its completely the opposite, sun is the worst company to work for, pay was always wrong and never fixed, the owners words to the workers "this eba is poorly written and we are going to use it to our advantage" Mark McGonagall at a meeting to the employees. They gave us $30 boots and expected us to wear them and even the office staff wouldnt wear them, they never supplied winter clothes..... the list goes on, they are cheap and nasty do yourself a favour stay away!! Worst 5 month's of my working career
The positive reports written by others on this, must of been paid alot of money !
Pros
nil
Cons

Jobs at SUN Engineering
Enjoyable work place
Pipe Fitter/Boiler Maker (Current Employee) - Mt Isa - 25 August 2013
A typical day at work involves, pipe fitting, fixed plant mechanical, always learning new things like how hot it can get. management seems to be fine, co workers are great to work with, the hardest part of the job would be the heat but there is no escaping that. The most enjoyable part of the job is that I got to help build a power station and all the people I have met.
