Poor onboarding induction, top management always changing, and it's hard for newly joined employers with poor onboarding process. Otherwise its god, Hude company, lots of teams to interact

Really depends on the role.

It's hit or miss with leaders, some are micomanagy, others are incredibly good. Getting out of personal banking is a must, plenty of good roles that you can transition to and use the personal banking call centre as a stepping stone for an entry level role. Penalties are nice, bonus every 6 months depending on your performance and also the banks. Discounts etc. paywise you'll get probably 61k full time? not including penalties. so can go up from there.

Good job. Toxic culture.

Not a bad place to work though it is very competitive and when you are doing well you are pushed to do better, which seemed to have the opposite effect on many. There seems to be a lot of nepotism and if you fit into a certaim stereotype you can go quite far!A bad team leader can make your job tedious and frustrating, especially when they speak to you while you are on a call!!! And when they want to "quiet fire" you, the job becomes impossoble. Sales KRAs can seem unrealistic and you are constantly told to upsell. They constantly shift the goalposts.I believe that their "customer value" model is very insencere and poontless as insurance and banking needs to be taken seriously. Dress up days, food days, and prizes are cool but if you are the type thar just wants to go to work and do only your job you may not enjoy working there.

Pros

Occasional bemefits and incentives

Cons

Very competitive

Place has gone downhill

Suncorp was a great place to work when I started. However, after covid, things changed. The company is far too focused on stats, and tends to micromanage their employees.

Good workplace

Good workplace with good mentors. I really enjoyed learning the art of sales calls. The days can feel long sometimes as your taking calls non stop throughout the day but you learn a lot. Best call centre culture I've worked for

Enjoy the work

Enjoy the work most days. Customers are great. Part of a good team who are supportive and fun to interact with. Micromanaging can be a bit much for some people however I manage.

Pumped at first but extremely deflated at the end

Started of great but found that it's very clicky and if you're a little different, you're outcasted! I suffer from a depression, stress, anxiety, disorder and was made to feel less than welcome by particular coworkers. There was one person in particular who pretended to care but then would twist and contort what was said and report to management. I would go into the office and be treated differently than my peer. It was noticed by other staff from other teams. I would get pulled up on asking my co worker questions instead of utilising the tech line. Every person in the office reached out to co workers instead of using the tech line and they did not get pulled up. If i asked one person a question or they helped me off their own back, I was reported and spoken to.I definitely was not accepted or valued. Even though I enjoyed the work, the way I felt and was made to feel was affecting my performance and my work began to suffer as I could not get out of own head and kept making silly mistakes. The customers I dealt with were lovely and I enjoyed most interactions with them. The office itself is beautiful. But the overall "cool kid" mentality was a killer and I felt I had no other choice but to leave abruptly for my mental health. Note: My disorder was intact untill sneaky undermining behaviour of others and ongoing singling out took place. I did not invite any of this. I did not openly reach out to my team unless they asked for feelings. Then when I expressed any insecurity, it was twisted and taken out of context, then reported to management. Then I was unable to defend myself -

Pros

Beautiful building, some great staff, Tech team are awesome, flexible, great income

Cons

Clicks, backstabbing, no inclusion for differenced (mine anyway)

Supportive but constant change.

WFH dream. Great TL’sProgression possible. Ample training. Data driven performance KRA’s. Lots of restructuring with little consultation. Workloads can become overwhelming at times.

Good work life balance

Suncorp looks after its staff and is very flexible with ways of working. However the reward and recognition system could be improved to give the right rewards for going above and beyond in your role.

Alright place to work and gain experience.

Really good place to work for. Team environment is very welcoming. Team leaders are awesome! Very understanding people and very helpful! Work from home benefit is amazing! Downside is restructuring, teams being moved around alot! Constant changes to our workload and new procedures to follow it gets hard trying to stay on top of it all without getting written for it! Overall, it is a good workplace, definitely recommend! Great for building customer service skills!

It was great working there

- They have regular training sessions and are not too hard on you when you make a mistake when you have just started.- They give multiple opportunities to try something different like opening different accounts, and solving different problems. - They are a definition of a TEAM, when a newbie needs help someone who knows and is free at the time will come and assist. - Upper management will come to this branch every couple of months and you will have the opportunity to talk to them about moving higher up in the ladder in whatever division of the bank you want, so to say the least they are supportive in your career progression within the company. - They have daily meetings before the branch opens so everyone knows what's happening and what needs changing. But the communication can be contradictory when talking to different people, so that was a bit difficult for me. - They will announce regularly when someone has done a big achievement, which someone that doesn't like attention drawn to themselves was difficult but I appreciated that they saw our efforts.- BIG PLUS: they have an in house barista that makes your daily coffee or hot chocolate for free to us employees and customers All in all, it was a great work environment, both the people you work with and the conditions you are given.

Us and them

Top heavy management. Role becoming increasingly impossible with constant procedural changes and extreme micro management of experienced claims staff by inexperienced bullying managers. Time to go.

One toxic boss can ruin your time here

Suncorp is one of my most favourite places that I have worked at. A combination of challenging meaningful work in a fast pace environment with friends you made for life. But like any company there’s a number of toxic bosses and if you’re unfortunate to land one and are female you can kiss any career development goodbye. If you’re lucky you will experience a supportive environment with opportunities to do secondments in other areas and great employee benefits (extra leave, 16 weeks primary careers leave eligible post probation, decent bonuses, discounts ect). Suncorp had flexible work pre covid with most people eligible to work from home a couple days a week as soon as you passed probation.

Pros

Culture, employee benefits, flexibility, opportunities

Cons

Some cane toads, meet one and you have no choice but to leave

Sell, sell, sell. Don't care about anything else.

Sell, sell, sell. Customer service and satisfaction is not a priority. You must sell products you are not trained to sell to customers who don't want them. Toxic environment and no support from management.
