Good time working in Randwick campus.
Administrative Officer HIU (Former Employee) - Randwick NSW - 30 October 2023
Indeed Featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedI started this role in 2014 as they were opening a new HIU in scanned medical record. Lucky to be offered the opportunity because not many hospitals that time were going electronic. Plus it was closer to home. I worked at RNSH before this in a similar setting and found difficult to apply for other medical records jobs. At the beginning it was 6FTE plus casual pool staff to assist with scanning older records. Then overtime it came down to fewer staff. Overtime I got tired of the place and role including being placed on reception most days until the last months of working there and needed to go and get change. It did give me the skills to challenge and progress myself though. Over the years, most of the staff and resources shifted to Westmead children’s hosptial HIU. I enjoyed the party days there and being able to dress up. I am in contact with a few colleagues there to this date.
Pros
Collaborative, closer to home, Good colleagues, tea parties
Cons
No career progression, favouritism of roles and colleagues

The team I was in was friendly and helpful and was always ready to pitch in when urgent work needs to be done. Although there were times when extra hours are needed to meet deadlines, our manager always is fair in regards to giving time in lieu.
Pros
Manager was flexible and very accomodating.
Cons
CCL is not my favorite tool.

Loved working for this hospital. Had a permanent shift which gave me good worklife balance. Thoroughly enjoyed my specialty in nursing as it was different to my past clinical experience as a Registered Nurse.
