very average, wouldn’t recommend

Indeed Featured review

working conditions are very average and management is not amazing A lack in training for employeesManagement can be sneaky about allowing breaks- if you work on a position like door where you are not allowed to leave you will not be allowed any breaks (including for water, bathroom etc)Pay was also very average and there were some inconsistencies in payment amounts

Productive

At Target duties included facing up shelves, putting away items and help setting up displays. If you ask they will train you in new areas like customer service etc. You’ll make some friends and overall isn’t to draining.

Nice

One of the standout aspects of working at Honey Birdette is the emphasis on creativity and innovation. The company encourages employees to contribute ideas and take initiative, fostering an atmosphere that values individual input. This has not only boosted my confidence but has also allowed me to develop new skills that are valuable in my role.

Good and fun place to work

Very good i would recommend to anyone looking for a not too hard job with decent pay, good managers, not too hard workload plus the discount for clothes is good.

Easy work but few shifts

Work can be boring and repetitive although it's easy for the pay. Some managers can be difficult to deal with, although overall it could be worse. The worst part is that as soon as you turn 18 they begin to cut your shifts down to the bare minimum and are expected to survive on one or two 3-hour shifts a week. Even during busier periods, the older you are the less work you get, and shifts are mostly 3hr 45min so you don't get a break.

Amazing place to work, great people, great environment, couldn't fault it at all. Thanks target for all the fun times. It's been great working at Target .

Defeated

I worked there for 2 months and it was fine at the start. Around the second month mark I received only 4 hours a week and would have to walk on eggshells around the team leaders. It felt like nothing we did was enough and left due to feeling like I was constantly in trouble. It was hard to communicate with team leaders without feeling like I was below them or like they wanted me to leave.Day to day duties were simple and easy to learn but if we weren’t involved in their clique, it felt like we were in trouble for not knowing brand new skills/chores ahead of time.

Good first job but honestly a bad time

Training was not very thorough, I kind of had no idea what I was doing most of the time and constantly felt anxious that I would be asked to do something I did not know how to do. Even after 3 months I still felt like that.Shifts were always 3 hours long and only got one or two a week. They use a bunch of apps to manage things and you are required to download them. They are annoying - especially the one that they manage shifts on as it is absolutely terrible. You put in unavailabilities through the app and they need to be approved by the managers. Sometimes they just don't see them and they never get approved.I'm not sure if you are actually expected to find your own covers for your shifts but it definitely felt that way. Multiple times I had to "call in sick" because I couldn't find a cover. Casuals should not be expected to find their own covers - that should be the managers job.Still was a decent first job, even if they can't be a reference for future employers after a month when they completely forget you ever existed.

Pros

Employed me even though I had no experience

Cons

Bad shifts, really bad training

Extremely boring when you're pigeon holed in to one role, doing the same task every shift.

If you're not friends with a manager, you will be getting the short end of the stick at tasks. Expectations can sometimes be too high where one person is expected to do the job of 3 because everyone else they hired is incompetent and poorly trained.

Great place

If you need just a few hours a month to work this is the place.. if you like repeating urself in the daily tasks this is the place. Before the welcoming co workers they need to resolve the management team. Overall it’s ok

Slow paced, great staff but bad management

The friendly and welcoming staff can make the job more enjoyable, creating a supportive atmosphere. However, this positive aspect was overshadowed by the frustrating presence of bad management. They were totally oblivious and had no clue what they were supposed to do.

Fun workplace

Great team, work was fast-paced but easy and manageable. Flexible working options so great for university students. It is a great place to learn about the retail culture.

Great place to work

Everyone is really friendly and it is a really laidback and comfortable environment to work in. Other workers are always willing to help you out when you need.

Overbearing management

Was not a happy workplace. The management team had unrealistic expectations of store staff, would often deny breaks. We were forced to do uncomfortable bag checks when we are not supposed to.

Fun work place

I worked here for 3 years during school and then after I graduated I was given the opportunity to go part time. It was a fun work place with recognition and great team members. Great first job.

My First Job was at Target Carousel and I will NEVER RECOMMEND IT!

DON'T WORK HERE. DON'T LET YOUR SON / DAUGHTER HAVE HER FIRST JOB HERE.Was singled out and scolded harshly by the manager in front of other team members and customers...Unclear and poor communication as well as minimal training from management. When first introduced to co-workers they were cold, unfriendly and very sarcastic with their responses towards new trainees. I expected the work culture to be better but they were not inclusive and tough by shouting at new trainees during their training. Disappointing work place culture overall. Mainly because all the managers showed favouritism towards certain staff members and being a new and younger staff member at the time, they often took advantage of younger staff. Hardest part of the job was confiding in someone on the store floor, there are only one or two team members who were caring and willing to help new staff. No one wanted to help. From experience, when new trainees approach team members for guidance majority of the staff will not bother to help new staff with customer queries. The most enjoyable part of the job was LEAVING the store and company ENTIRELY.

Pros

Having toilets within the store.

Cons

No allocated BREAKS, often missing break times, difficult to locate managers and team members on the store floor to seek help when in need, having to clean up after customers' rubbish and spilt drinks, untidy products and store organisation needs lots of improvements.

don’t recommend at all

Bad management , team members are not friendly at all , not a good work environment whatsoever. i understand it’s a job but if u speak one word to an employee you are told off by employer and what’s worse there’s favouritism and if you’re not the manager’s favourite they don’t treat u good at all.

Awesome team, average pay

The whole casual team is so fun and managers are really chill as long as we do a good job. We don’t get yelled at and the pay is pretty good for the environment but could be better.

Good entry level retail store to work very dynamic busy environment in Parramatta store Overall, the experience wasn't the best but not the worst as well. Had some good times but I wouldn't come back.

Very supportive workplace

While it’s not perfect, there are plenty jobs you’d be worse off in than Target. When the wage budget is high you will get a tonne of shifts and earn good money. From my experience, cancelling shifts is really easy due to the professionalism of managers. Coworkers become your closest friends and the work is really only difficult during weekends and holiday periods. I will say however, when you don’t get shifts you really don’t. Some weeks I might go only 3 hours the whole week. The pay isn’t anything to write home about either, but I’ve never worked where I felt so comfortable and happy to be there

Pros

Coworkers become closest friends, Good Management, Variation in your role, Pretty chill

Cons

Wont feel confident in hours working as casual, pay is substandard
