Productive and engaging environment
Team Member (Casual) (Former Employee) - Cairnlea VIC - 21 November 2023
Target incorporated a hardworking and overall diverse team that was diligent and productive in both its design and practicality. The managers were for the most part very welcoming and helpful when it came to running everyday errands and current employees were always willing to help new employees. The environment at Target was always lively and productive which made me feel like I was apart of a team that contributed.

Fun to work at
Sales Assistant (Former Employee) - Bairnsdale VIC - 12 May 2023
I worked here after school and weekends and it was a good job while being at school still. Only problem was the adults would treat the casuals who were still at school like we were children, yes technically we were, but we were totally capable of doing our jobs just as much as they were
Pros
Made friends
Cons
Short shifts

A miserable place to work
Customer Service Assistant (Casual) (Former Employee) - Rockingham WA - 20 April 2023
Unless you are in kahoots with the management team, you will receive a rubbish roster, minimal training and little to no respect. You are treated like a number and spread over several departments, doing the work of 6 people at once. I wasted years of my life in this depressing workplace, believing I could do no better, because the place sucks all the confidence and passion out of you. Highly recommend to steer clear for your mental health.
Pros
The minimal store discount
Cons
Management, pay is barley minimum wage, terrible hours, repetitive work

East and relaxed workplace
Retail Assistant (Former Employee) - Melbourne VIC - 14 April 2023
Honestly it was a decent job to have, the people there were nice and chill. The managers were all very nice but the job gets very repetitive because the management only put you in one area and if you request for another area they might, slim chance, you’ll be moved.
Pros
Relaxed
Cons
Repetitive and if you’re good in an area they won’t want to move you

Uncomfortable first job experience for teens
Team Member (Casual) (Former Employee) - Geelong VIC - 11 April 2023
Managers failed to adequately train me for the various roles, consequently, I heavily relied on inexperienced team members to teach me what was required. My overall lack of proper training caused mistakes, this in turn evoked passive aggression from my employers and an uncomfortable workspace to be in for a first-time working teen.

Great place to work
Team member (Current Employee) - Newcastle - 31 March 2023
Amazing team members Supporting managers Only low hours- average maybe 3-5hrs a week good job to work ad if ur at uni Don't rely on this job to give you consistent hours

Poor management and toxic work environment
Team member (Former Employee) - Narellan NSW - 30 March 2023
A lot of managers favourited certain workers and gave them more shifts than others. Some of the managers were passive aggressive and insensitive. A lot of gossip around the workplace and bullying in some cases. Coworkers were either mean, super annoying and they all were snitches and dobbed you in to management anytime they could just for brownie points. Inconsistent hours and not a stable source of income. A super easy job that requires little to no effort whatsoever, but is super boring because sometimes they expect you to stand in one spot for 6 hours straight. Good for high schoolers looking for money to spend, but not looking to save much. Bad for uni students who need stable income, highly recommend having another job on the side.
Pros
easy job
Cons
inconsistent hours

Fun place to work but no advancement
Retail Assistant (Current Employee) - Queensland - 10 February 2023
I love the people I work with and the job is great once you get into the hang of it. The staff can be hard to get along with sometimes and also management don't always have your back. If you can be yelled at by customers and enjoy hanging out with people of all ages then look into this job.
Pros
Great staff, great things to sell, flexible hours
Cons
Sometimes bad customers, Hours available to work very on and off

Not a bad job
Customer Service (Current Employee) - Geelong VIC - 19 October 2022
My overall experience has its ups and downs however it was a good casual job when I needed the work. I’d recommend if you really needed casual work at that time
Pros
Chill
Cons
Management

Good place for young ones finishing school, or who are currently in school looking for casual.
Retail Assistant (Former Employee) - Cheltenham VIC - 18 October 2022
Got offered a spot through work experience. Was great pay while I was in high school. Plenty of work during school holidays, made a lot of money, got a lot of calls for shifts especially for a casual so it awesome. Your typical retail job you're always going to have bad customers no matter where, it's retail. Some managers weren't the greatest with their attitude towards the workers, for example just wanting more and more work done even if we hit our goals for the day they pushed a bit much, but it was bearable, there was no personal attakcs

Overall really good
Pick Packer (Current Employee) - North Brisbane QLD - 4 October 2022
Management is super nice. Job is pretty easy to learn and work is pretty independent. You get paid for some initial training which is nice. Would highly recommend it.
