It was fairly alright

It's a nice job, but I personality wouldn't proceed in a career. It had friendly people though, and the hours weren't too bad when you also have school

Customer service

Great friends made - easy paced environment not to stressful, however when peak hours like weekends occur it is a little frustrating regarding shift hours and managers expecting employees to work overtime last minute

was ok

it was ok but management was horrible. only trained me for one shift and threw me in the deep end on my second shift. overall working here is not too bad if you don’t mind a lack of training.

productive

easy job only thing is work hours get cut short after peak season even if you get hired on full time after the season ends.

Good place for Yr10 Work Experience

Access to food court after work is nice, get to do light manual labour. Got to work in various sections including the underground area and the cosmetics section.

Good workplace for casual employment/students

Boring workplace place but overall easy work so if you are a student it would be well suited to your schedule due to the low hours and ease of work so makes it easy to ensure a proper work life balance is being upheld

Pros

-low stress -ease of work

Cons

Pay Management

Great team and very flexible

the shifts they give when it's not Christmas time are so bad, only 3-4 hr shifts so they don't have to pay for breaks, they will have you work 7pm-10pm. Team is amazing will meet great people and make great friendships. 5% discount is honestly useless. Managment never gives any recognition for your work and are rude.

its okay for a side job if you can put up with the drama

I was hired over Christmas as a casual they claimed, not a Xmas casual but after Xmas my hours dropped dramatically to the point where i’m going to have to find a new job. They didn’t let me know prior they just cut them back suddenly leaving me to struggle. The managers and employees openly talk badly about everyone it’s like being in high school. So unprofessional! They don’t care about you as a person or your wellbeing. You don’t get trained properly then they get mad and threaten you that someone better can replace you.

Pros

fun at times. pay is decent. good side job.

Cons

no enough hours. management is unprofessional.

Some managers care, others, well..

Started off great. Team and managers were supportive. Then new management came in and personally, it crashed and burned from there.Don't be too good in an area or you'll never ever get taught anywhere else.I was nominated Dock Leader due to my speed, leadership, determination and coordination. Because of that, they never trained me anywhere else despite asking numerous times, I wanted more training to climb the career ladder.Store manager said he would train me but 3 months pass and I was still doing nothing but running the dock.Keep in mind, the dock is a 4h arvo shift. 6 around x-mas if you're lucky.I understand "put your team in positions that they're best at" but if the pallets didn't rock up, they cancelled my shift. No one cared if they got their job done, "the morning/afternoon shift can do it". I did care, I took it apon myself to always get the dock done and took it as a personal failure if it wasn't.Despite my already sweat breaking effort, new management pushed me harder, cut my hours, doubled my work and still expected me to get it done. No, Macarthur Target isn't worth it unless it's temporary and you slack off because they don't deserve your hard work.

Pros

Birthdays recognized, yearly x-mas parties, friendly staff.

Cons

No recognition for hard work, limited training, unfair workload.

Many people say that life isn't like a bed of roses. I beg to differ. I think that life is quite like a bed of roses. Just like life, a bed of roses

GoodMany people say that life isn't like a bed of roses. I beg to differ. I think that life is quite like a bed of roses. Just like life, a bed of roses looks pretty on the outside, but when you're in it, you find that it is nothing

Meet some great people

Worked for the company for a long time doing every area at store level. Originally was a great place to work but became a toxic environment with no career progression. Management was hit and miss, however after working in different regions I learned that favouritism from regional management meant that progressing further was no longer an option. The cutting of wages meant more work on the team causing stress. Having management that lacked training themselves also meant that you were winging it most of the time. The wages were okay but not amazing for what you have to do. Put it this way If you go to management and inform them of personal information they spread it around to people who should not be informed.

Pros

People.

Cons

Management. Hours.

Great Workplace with Lots to Learn and Do

The work that you do is very easy and gives you a great experience of the workforce. The team can be a bit exclusive, but is made up for with competent management. The more time you have, the more hours you can work, but you need specific hours free, so some events that have inconvenient times can reduce your hours significantly. Conversations with customers tend to go well, and management give you a lot of leniency is solving problems with customers.

Pros

Great breakout rooms

Cons

Struggle to build connections with other team members
