In my experience with shifts you either get all or nothing. I’m currently averaging 3 hours a week while others in my store are doing 10 hours a day.

They will tell you 15-20 hours per week, but it will end up being approximately 6-8 hours, often split over two shifts so you have to pay double the transport costs. This is apparently so they don’t have to give staff a break. My daughter has worked for them for months now as a casual and has NEVER had 15 hours per week, even though she’s available for full time work. They treat their casuals terribly.

Really depends on the size of the store and how many casuals are there. The shortest shift they usually give is 3 hours. Sometimes you won't get any shifts for weeks, and sometimes you'll get several. In my experience most of the casual staff isn't valued very highly and i think thats reflected in the rostering. Also get used to getting rosters on incredibly short notice.
