Exciting and fun company to work for. Probably more stressful than it should be for the salary. Pros and cons of working for a privately owned company where the owner will often drop in

Company preaches values but does not practice them
This company used to be really fun to work for. However, there is now very little support from district managers and home office. The company does not appreciate team members who have been with the company for years. They would rather have a high turnover rate and lowball new, inexperienced managers. Recently, the company eliminated the assistant manager role in a majority of stores, leaving the store managers to be the only full time manager and have no support. They replaced the ASM role with an additional part-time key holder position, leaving store managers to deal with more of the workload with even less support. The turnover rate of key holders is extremely high due to them being mostly college students. This company preaches about values and putting people first, but in reality, their employees are at the bottom of their list of priorities. The annual raise is about .50 cents and the company doesn’t give bonuses. We are expected to go above and beyond with no incentive.
