Training is severely lacking
Whether or not you have any experience, you are immediately thrown onto the registers and are expected to serve customers. The orientation you are meant to initially complete was through an online module that is to be completed before your first shift and only discusses rules and background of the role. While you are trained by management during your first shifts, these training sessions are duri...

good for starting, but repetitive and draining
it’s good for a first job and like many retail jobs, it’s very repetitive. biggest issue for me was that everything was always sticky and register scanners would often just switch off. it becomes very draining very quickly. 3 hour shifts feel like 9 hour shifts.

Overworked, Underpaid and No Support. -Two Faced Management
Expected overtime without pay. “40 hours per week” as management, but will definitely do more without a cent extra paid. No recognition nor will they support you in training etc. When something’s done slightly not to standard, will be your fault even though no training or support from management provided at all. Make this a last resort job if necessary. *** Look up news articles for reference. EA...

Roller coaster of a workplace
Constantly chasing your tail, high expectations and under appreciated. Lack of support from higher ups. Don’t take into account bush periods for tourist towns when considering wage budgets. Expected to work miracles. No support when it comes to disrespectful staff or customers.
