of the Queensland Government.

Our current portfolio also includes the Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort on the Gold Coast. In all, our asset base includes seven hotels, around 60 restaurants and bars, and a workforce of approximately 9,000 team members.

We welcome a staggering 22 million local, interstate and international visitors each year.

Alongside our Hong Kong-based partners, Chow Tai Fook and Enterprises and Far East Consortium,

we have a multi-billion-dollar investment pipeline across Sydney and South East Queensland.

This includes the transformational $3.6 billion Queen’s Wharf Brisbane development which is expected to

open in 2022 and the proposed $2 billion Gold Coast Master Plan.

In the future we will showcase more than 12 hotels (including new brands such as The Ritz-Carlton,

Rosewood and Dorsett), approximately 130 restaurants and bars, and thousands of additional team members.

Fun workplace
Good. I enjoyed the work. Good experience for first job. Met a lot of new friends. The skills wasn’t transferable to another job, but improve my customer service skills.

Good Bottom, Weak Top
Great Coworkers and most lower management will have your backs so long as you do the job right. Most guests are usually amicable but there are times when Upper Management really needs to step up their game.

Benefits everything
They provide free-meal for every shift, clean uniform as well, also another career in the star group.Even you apply for the next job, the experience at the star will be highly evaluated
Bartender in Surfers Paradise QLD

Not good
Pay you wrong, back of house always smells like dookie. You will probably be used by power tripping security guards even though you are a staff member and they see you 7 times a week
FACILITY CLEANER in Gold Coast QLD

Some sections are under supervised
Generally it's decent place to work. Staff are mostly friendly. Working conditions are good. Allocated breaks are adhered to and all uniforms are supplied for staff.

They ask about previous hotel experience, why you want to work for this hotel? why have you left the previous hotel? Where do u see yourself in five years?

Are you prepered to work a rotating roster eg 12hrs shifts. Day shift 7am-7pm.Night shift 7pm-7am. Please be aware The Star does not recognise the above as shift work so penalties do not apply. Are you prepared to work with sewage waste water leaks and open electrical. Alot of the management is not qualified and the place upon employment does not cunduct a phisical or police check. Maybe this is the place for your dream job.
