The work is easy. Unlike most office or corp jobs you do not have to take any of your work home. The job does much require much labour, It is relatively easy on the body but does require some repetitive tasks. Bad for tall people as it requires alot of looking down.

Pros

Free meal, Star Discount.

Cons

working at night. Repetitive. Not meaningful work

Great for those singles who need training, structure and hours in their job

My job was to deal games briskly, minimise errors and make money for the company. I learned about repetitive work and repetitive strain. Surveillance will want you to clean your hands. The gamblers hope you keep paying them. The managers want you to quicken your game turnover. The environment is toxic due to gambling addicts, sore losers and drunks. Whatever you do is never good enough for the neurotic, drunk, and the mischievous. Then there are tricksters hoping to fool you and score. The wages are good for singles renting a room. These days the high cost of living may dwarf the wages. After a few years I began to question my career direction. My efforts were not noticed and it was hard to get promoted. Many managers enjoy watching dealers get burnt by gamblers. Or they don't care, because gamblers are the main source of income. Nepotism and temporary alliances among staff are common. After leaving I was confronted with reality: My casino skills are not so transferable. If you're smart, make worthwhile connections. Easy to say, right?

Pros

Some meals, uniform & some training

Cons

Toxic environment, repetitive tasks & minimal help from managers

Nothing trueWhat is a typical day like for you at the company?Working a lot and receiving no greetings at all. Just complaint or unbelievable requests from the management

Eventful and Busy

I worked with most teams, and always fitted in, when I needed help it was only a call away, Control always had my back, always plenty of Shift, I never had an issue with Pay. Only left due because of flyin - flyout work on Xmas Island for detention services. Overall I enjoyed my time there.

Physically and mentally draining

If you're casual they will abuse you. F&B are treated poorly. Management does not care about your well-being and is all over the place. No structure. They will either give you a lot of shifts or none, not very stable. Each shift is 10 hours for casuals. The environment is very customer is right, even if they were in the wrong, the customer is treated like royalty and you will be publicly shunned but they will blame it on 'the company' when you speak up.

Exciting place to work with great culture

Worked there for 9 years and enjoyed every moment of it. Great progression and team culture. Lot of areas to move to or progression. Diversity is great and training is on the job.

An exciting job that pays decently

No two days are the same working in table games at The Star. If you like games, guest interaction and don't mind working in the weekends this is the job for you.The majority of time at The Star is stress free! You would come into work, do your shift and returning home with no thought about work until you are in again. You do however, have to deal with many demanding guests who think they are privileged because they wager a lot of money. If you can be thick-skinned and ignore the rubbish they spout, you will have no problems in this role.Management is supportive and will do their best to have your back and to expand your career. The culture is great and I don't think I'll ever work in another place where the team is so close.Just be prepared for shift work, working weekends and graveyard shifts! There is a good system in place for team members to swap or give away shifts with others, however weekend work is simply unavoidable.

Not bad if you have other commitment

easy job over all, one thing to keep in mind is do not take customer's anger personally. One good thing is you get to work with different people everyday, and some of them might been there for ages but you never seen them around.

Pros

free meals

Cons

shift work

Good money and perksDepends on departmentNot recommend kitchen team

Good money and perks But they don’t offer part or full tome easilyBecause we’re still going through covid 19.I’m not recommend kitchen team as a low level. You can’t learn skills enough and unstable roster

Fun workplace, good benefits and all

I worked at The Star just over three years, it was sad to leave but i have a new challenge for me and following my dream. The Star has been one of the best place that i have worked, sure the best company. I had three amazing years and i have worked and meet so many people from different countries. It was fun but always professional, also relaxed. Thank you all Star Casino, i will 100% recommend anyone to work there. Hands down, thank you.

Pros

Buffet free lunches, light rail for staff, discounts accross the venues, gift cards twice per year

Negative

Very negative experience working at the star Sydney. No management support, use if force policy sucks to eject into patrons out of the casino,no support at all.

Pros

Free lunch and dinner every shift

Cons

Long hours, management are bullies, work itself sucks.

Worst employeer ever

Treats staff like less than numbers. Only care about squeezing every cent out of players. If a player has even a little money they can do as they want

Pros

Uniform supplied and cleaned

Cons

Treats staff like garbage

Not good place to work

Favoritism and toxic culture (HR always on management side). Also, if their policy and procedure going wrong, they will pick up staff to get blame. You will not get paid for training to level up your skill unless it is mandatory other than that you have to manage your spare time.

Pros

Free meal and subsidised parking

Cons

Favoristm and toxic culture
