Work for money, nothing else

Staff is good, management is bad. Favouritism, work staff is not friends, just work relationship, no job sponsorship, salaried staff work more than 78hours in a fortnight,

Pros

Free food, uniform

Cons

Tasteless food, all day breakfast

Average

Company is okay to work. Higher managers can be toxic although great team members that provide friendships outside of work. Good staff discount to enjoy the facilities.

Pros

Free lunch

Cons

Toxic managers

Great for those singles who need training, structure and hours in their job

My job was to deal games briskly, minimise errors and make money for the company. I learned about repetitive work and repetitive strain. Surveillance will want you to clean your hands. The gamblers hope you keep paying them. The managers want you to quicken your game turnover. The environment is toxic due to gambling addicts, sore losers and drunks. Whatever you do is never good enough for the neurotic, drunk, and the mischievous. Then there are tricksters hoping to fool you and score. The wages are good for singles renting a room. These days the high cost of living may dwarf the wages. After a few years I began to question my career direction. My efforts were not noticed and it was hard to get promoted. Many managers enjoy watching dealers get burnt by gamblers. Or they don't care, because gamblers are the main source of income. Nepotism and temporary alliances among staff are common. After leaving I was confronted with reality: My casino skills are not so transferable. If you're smart, make worthwhile connections. Easy to say, right?

Pros

Some meals, uniform & some training

Cons

Toxic environment, repetitive tasks & minimal help from managers

Pays the bills

The work is easy. Unlike most office or corp jobs you do not have to take any of your work home. The job does much require much labour, It is relatively easy on the body but does require some repetitive tasks. Bad for tall people as it requires alot of looking down.

Pros

Free meal, Star Discount.

Cons

working at night. Repetitive. Not meaningful work

Physically and mentally draining

If you're casual they will abuse you. F&B are treated poorly. Management does not care about your well-being and is all over the place. No structure. They will either give you a lot of shifts or none, not very stable. Each shift is 10 hours for casuals. The environment is very customer is right, even if they were in the wrong, the customer is treated like royalty and you will be publicly shunned but they will blame it on 'the company' when you speak up.

Can be much better

This company has a potential to be much better than it is currently. A good management from top down can do the trick. Management needs to start looking more into employee welfare, processess, documentation etc.

Pros

Free Food all day everyday.

Cons

Long Hours, Poor management, Poor infrastructure.

Boys club

I feel like this company should be used on the set of Mad Men, it is such a dated environment and ultimate boys club. And the way everything is managed is atrocious. This place makes money in spite of itself.

Pros

Free lunchs

Cons

Morale
