Great Pay

Indeed Featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
The pay is amazing however, due to being a 24/7 business, its hard to have a balanced work/life balance. Especially on Christmas and New Years. There is also a block out period around Christmas where you can't take leave from work, without special confirmation from management.

Pros

Free lunch, good pay, uniform provided, dry cleaning provided

Cons

24/7 availability, no time off at Christmas

Work for money, nothing else

Staff is good, management is bad. Favouritism, work staff is not friends, just work relationship, no job sponsorship, salaried staff work more than 78hours in a fortnight,

Pros

Free food, uniform

Cons

Tasteless food, all day breakfast

Benefits everything

They provide free-meal for every shift, clean uniform as well, also another career in the star group.Even you apply for the next job, the experience at the star will be highly evaluated

Good salary and motivate environment

The pay rate is higher than others, stable work shift, but they have a high expectation for their staffs. Training program is really fun and helpful for work.

Physically and mentally draining

If you're casual they will abuse you. F&B are treated poorly. Management does not care about your well-being and is all over the place. No structure. They will either give you a lot of shifts or none, not very stable. Each shift is 10 hours for casuals. The environment is very customer is right, even if they were in the wrong, the customer is treated like royalty and you will be publicly shunned but they will blame it on 'the company' when you speak up.

Great work culture and environment, on duty meals provided

I've always enjoyed working at the hotel. The work culture is very professional and yet relaxed. Departments may have a certain difference in management but overall it's very good.
