District Sales Manager (Former Employee) - Melbourne VIC - 29 July 2020
Indeed Featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedAlthough I very much enjoyed my time at Toyota head office. I couldn’t help but notice that all high level executives and dealer principals are all outside friends. If your ever wanting to climb the corporate ladder you’d need to be in the right crowd. I’ve seen managers put in place for the wrong reasons, and unfortunately due to their lack of management experience makes the below employees work harder .
Pros
Financial and constant training
Cons
Boys club

Made to fit right in straight away, the management promote a good organised culture and appreciate their employees. Well laid out offices anything we needed we received (within reason). Good work/life balance as everyone took part in the rostering decisions.
Pros
Great colleagues
Cons
Can be challenge, may not be for everyone.

Product owner (Current Employee) - Melbourne VIC - 31 July 2023
Pay is below average but the benefits are great and they make a genuine effort to create a good environment for work. Many people have been there for a long time which is both good and bad. Overall I genuinely like being here.

A company with great product but relies too heavily on brand and reputation
Sales Manager (Current Employee) - Melbourne VIC - 4 June 2023
Not a high stress environment, very slow progression, unless you're 'in the club'. Much dead weight in management and many people taking advantage of the slack conditions of post covid work style.

Productive and Challanging
Project Leader (Former Employee) - Melbourne VIC - 23 June 2018
Toyota Motor Corporation Australia (TMCA) is an amazing organization that has strong philosophy (people first) and has a diverse employees. The company offers lots of opportunities and challenges to its employees whether it is a daily operations, decision making or providing leadership. Dealing with various stakeholders is definitely more challenging, especially the approval process. there are lots of amazing people who offer support and work as a team.

pushed to the limit mentally and physically
Storeperson (Former Employee) - Melbourne VIC - 25 February 2018
25 years at the Toyota spare parts warehouse, a toxic workplace dealing with workplace bullies mostly supervision, no chance of advancement unless your part of a favored group. Often went home upset and even had to reach out to mental health professionals after constant abuse by supervisor. Management never ever say good work, we were always told were not meeting their target and the target bar keeps rising. I lost my youth and part of my soul in this vindictive divisive workplace, HR representatives are only to happy to escort you to the gate for any reason at all. Supervision would even question you as to why your going to the toilet. in summary I would not recommend this workplace to anybody, you will be worked very hard and your ONLY reward is money, nothing else at all.
Pros
decent wage
Cons
toxic supervision, no promotion prospects, long hours.

Supervisor of Maintenance Department (Former Employee) - Melbourne VIC - 14 August 2017
Good Place to work. The company gives us opportunity to learn different jobs, good communication with leaders and team members, safety is number one, team work, respect each other, quality.
The challenges
One of the biggest challenge in Toyota was when the company speed up the line and didn't increase the team members.

Good place to work offering great learning opportunities
Supplier Risk Project Management (Current Employee) - Melbourne VIC - 28 November 2015
TMCA is good place to work specially for people that commence their careers as it offers great opportunities of learning the business and continuous improvement culture. However in the recent undertaken Transformational Changes the business has involved a decent amount of red tape and politics, but this is expected of a big company and during undertaking of the Change management process. There is a freedom to use the improvement initiatives in the daily performed tasks and make daily job much more interesting and challenging..
Pros
Teamwork, career and learning opportunities
Cons
slow change adoption, bureaucracy, top -down management approach
