fair compensation, well-organized, all about procedures

They have fair compensation. The organizational culture has strong commitment to rules and procedures, but it sometimes limits opportunities for creativity.

Productive and enjoyable workplace

A typical day at work is to work under touch situation, example, facing parts shortages, waiting on the maintenance for break-downs, this in turn, helped me to cope with work under pressure and acquire self control. The management was great, candid communication and helpful, when needed, readily available and approachable. Workplace culture with highly motivated employees was good with moral respect and understanding for each other. The hardest part of the job was to keep production moving at break-downs, ensuring to meet the daily targets. The most enjoyable part of my job was to work and assist my fellow workers at cruitial times e.g. whist incurring workplace problems and difficulties in their jobs

Pros

Over-time

pushed to the limit mentally and physically

25 years at the Toyota spare parts warehouse, a toxic workplace dealing with workplace bullies mostly supervision, no chance of advancement unless your part of a favored group. Often went home upset and even had to reach out to mental health professionals after constant abuse by supervisor. Management never ever say good work, we were always told were not meeting their target and the target bar keeps rising. I lost my youth and part of my soul in this vindictive divisive workplace, HR representatives are only to happy to escort you to the gate for any reason at all. Supervision would even question you as to why your going to the toilet. in summary I would not recommend this workplace to anybody, you will be worked very hard and your ONLY reward is money, nothing else at all.

Pros

decent wage

Cons

toxic supervision, no promotion prospects, long hours.

Toyota R & D workplace

I learnt a lot while I worked at Toyota and now appreciate why their vehicles are so reliable, however they are like most large companies where they have a difficulty changing or accepting innovation and new working ideas.

Pros

Company is honest and has a high quality expectation

Cons

long hours, hard business trips overseas

Fantastic place to work

Toyota was an amazing place to work, full of wonderful people who made coming to work a pleasure. As a marketer, working for a global brand icon and strong market leader was a great experience and we had good budgets and agencies to be able to deliver some innovative and outstanding work. Good benefits like company/lease cars, as well as discounts for family more than offset salaries that might be slightly lower than some other big companies/industries. A culture that promotes and rotates people from within means lots of opportunity if you stick around (which most people do for a long time). I was there 16 years and would still be there now if my job hadn't relocated to Melbourne.

Pros

Great People, Great Culture, Discounts on cars

Cons

Recent move to Melbourne has seen huge changes in personnel, may change things

production line

I have gained an enormous amount of knowledge and experience in welding, operating industrial machinery and robots, vehicle assembly, quality, continuous improvement and much more. I have enjoyed the technical side of my role, understanding the GMP, SOP’s, equipment, and developing mechanical and team member skills, working well both alone, and as part of team. Known as a hard-working, reliable individual who manages time efficiently, I have been recognized numerous times for identifying quality issues, implementing process improvements and my commitment to workplace health and safety.

Challenging and dynamic workplace that thrives on continuous improvements.

Always busy and never a dull moment in the workplace. Management are always supportive and flexible on the needs of employees. Even though the workplace is multi-cultural, employees are friendly and works as a team. The hardest part of the job is changing the mindset of employees to always do the right thing (e.g. following rules and regulations). The most enjoyable part of my job is receiving positive feedback both from employees and management on how I perform my work.

Pros

Pay and benefits.

Cons

Short breaks.
