previously worked as a traffic controller however unable to do this work now due to medical reasons - cannot stand for long periods. Now best suited for light truck and forklift work

Stepping stone

Just stack your money and move on as soon as you can. This job is full of snakes and people who don’t care about you or your personal life so don’t bother trusting anyone

Fun work place the employer was great

Overall it was a positive experience but i feel I needed change. I enjoy working- i need to work. I only stopped because the company had no work. I will really enjoy a change.

Pros

Overtime and long hours

Cons

Nothing really

Horrible, wouldn’t recommend

The management at this job is absolutely horrible. They gossip about others personal business and talk about everyone. Inconsistent. Have to drive your own vehicle to and from work everywhere & every day. 45+ minutes both way. Usually no breaks or lunches. Or able to use the restroom

Pros

None

Cons

Everything

Mundane work, long hours on your feet & always in the elements!

Traffic Control work is the most boring job I have ever done.Inconsistent work & people who bicker about people behind their backs to ensure they get all the work.Lousy job & lousy money for what you have to put up with.I'm done with traffic control work... It was only a fill in job, but it's not worth my time.

Pros

Working in different locations

Cons

Too many chiefs & not enough Indians. Everybody wants to be a crew leader, lol!

Long days

I liked the job, but it wasn't a great place to work if you are ambitious. Socially was not very good either. It was hard being on call day to day. It could have been a fun job if they had a better schedule

great staff

They were quick to hire me and start my training, The staff were all professional and guided me to be good at my job. The only downfall is that the work can be so unpredictable.

traffic control

my review of a traffic control is that always being exposed to the element of weather wind, snow, rain, sun, cold, heat always being prepared for the weather ,always being prepared for work ,communication is the key for this job cause you are controlling what comes through the work site and if needing to stop or let traffic go though

Stressful and dangerous

Very stressful. Every day is different and the danger is real. Rarely do you get a chance to have a lunch break or a bathroom break if you are on a flagging job. I was left standing on the side of the road once from 8am-11:30pm.... no breaks.

Is Indeed your favorite place to learn about companies?

About MWBD do not work there. I did a good review of the job, which you could do at any traffic control company.

They will not pay you at this company and one of the supervisors thinks he knows everything. The owner tells a lot at everyone even though she's the owner, she tries to avoid you if you are trying to collect on your paycheck

School Crossing Supervisor -

I enjoy working in this capacity, being a part of the community looking after school children and older high school students. We are there throughout any weather condition to make sure they get to school and get home safely after a day at school. It can also be quite frustrating when the traffic takes no interest in the welfare of the pedestrians and drive through and make a mockery of us trying to do our job. Each day has its challenges, some days are worse than others, but it is also a great job for part time hours and can be very rewarding.

Job with security and variety the traffic control company is the place to go

Working for the traffic control company was stressful at times but otherwise it was absolutely wonderful I had a great experience with them they were understanding if you were a little bit late they would allow you to have time off for family problems the amount of pay on prevailing wage jobs was wonderful they paid on time and on a regular basis which was weekly however they did not offer direct deposit but that's just a little thing when you consider I got to do what I love which is Drive and actually got paid to do it.

Pros

Got paid for actually standing around waiting, for other companies to get done with their work, so we can pick up the traffic control items

Cons

When I was driving, it was kind of stressful, backing up a freeway the wrong, way but legally doing so unfortunately, having the traffic come directly at you from behind, and being responsible for the lives of the guys on the back of the truck

I enjoy working with people who has self respect and people that doesn't judge me or criticize me but rather helps me if i come lacrosse

I'm always willing to learn new things and I never get stuck with one way of solving a problem. Before I say or do something I first analyze my strengths and weaknesses and try to evaluate or give someone or something else a try. Always open to new suggestions
