Work varied between pure engineering to project and stakeholder management, through to identifying new business development opportunities. A change in organisational strategy and focus is providing opportunities for staff with a business development mindset.
My duties were focused on stakeholder management and existing and new connections to the electricity network. These duties covered the full end-to-end customer experience including all technical, commercial, legal and regulatory aspects of the connection.. TransGrid is structured as a traditional regulated organisation, but is moving slowly into a more commercial/competitive environment as networks become privately owned.
