If you have a family an or kids us foods is not the place for that. We go in at 4pm and are not off until the work is complete. The hardest part of the job is working overnight

Pros

Unlimited overtime

Cons

No family time

Hard at its best as Selector

Working at US foods as a selector is hardwork! U will be working nights from 5:30pm till whatever time selection is done sometimes u get off early and sometimes you get off very late like 7am in the morning. It’s a 8-12hrs or more job. You will need or your strength physically and mentally for this job because u will be need to be focused to avoid getting injured and making mistakes with order selection. The management there now are the worst I have ever have deal with. They really don’t care too much about you, all they need from you is select as much cases as you can. There is only one manager and one supervisor that really cares and they goes the extra mile to ensure selection is done smoothly. However if u don’t mind the labor intensiveness and need a fresh start in life and you will to learn it will be the best place to work. They pay very well especially when you become a top selector at $35 per hour plus overtime and sure do have great benefits

Pros

Great benefits and pay well plus overtime

Cons

Labor intensive and bad management structure

Bad environment

Overall not a good place to work. The possibility of you getting fired after 90 days does not help you learn the job faster. There is a huge learning curve that people who have been there years don't remember going though.

Not worth

Only good thing was the pay but even sometimes they make you question if that’s enough with all the bs they ask for.

Bad

Bad place to work for, managment is bad. They treat you like you don't belong there. Bad place to work at specially the shifts that they put you to work. If you work there dont expect time for you or your family.

Don’t waste your time

Things in your control are amplified and used as a reason why your failing, but things out of your control that are holding you back are never addressed and you’re left to drown. I’m not going to disrespect anyone. I’ll just say There’s a reason that they’re ALWAYS Hiring. Think about why they might be always hiring before you decide. With that in mind, Go with your gut. Good luck with whatever decision you make.

You make money, but it's hard work.

Most of food service is hard work, you get to be home every night, and us foods is no different. If you have a CDL A, I suggest finding other means of employment, you will break your body running a ramp doing this job. Management is often people who couldn't make it as drivers, and the regional vice presidents are usually trying to run the DC into the ground. Corporate has their heads, so far up their own cheeks that it's ridiculous. These people believe that delivery driver go out and do magic to make 20k of product come off the back of the truck. When it's slow they cut routes, and you might not work. When it's busy, they cut routes, and you will have more cases, more weight, and more stops. The only thing keeping you at a job delivering food with us foods is if you don't work for a year, they make you pay whatever amount of bonus you have received back to them. The pay can clear six figures, but only if you want to work 70 hours. You will only get 2 days off in a row if you have seniority, otherwise to work 5 days you will have split days off.Often people wake up at midnight for work, if it's busy you won't be home until after 3 or 4 pm

Management SUCKS

The management during the day teach you the way they want you to do things but it is totally different on nights. The night people do everything they can to make sure that you don't make it past your first week. They won't help you even on your first time getting orders. They will tell management their opinion on how they think you are doing and if they don't like they way you are teaching yourself how to do the orders then its against their code of conduct and they will fire you for it. Even when you ask them what code of conduct you broke they won't tell you. MANAGEMENT SUCKS. Do NOT work for this company. They advertise pay as 23.15 an hour and thats a lie to.

Pros

NO Pros

Cons

Pay and management

Decent job. Pay is not worth the work you have to do

Decent job. Not paid nearly enough for the work you have to do. Start times differ from day to day. Loads are organized horribly. Warehouse workers not held accountable for it when all problems start with them.

Pros

Saturday n Sundays off

Cons

Everything else

Run far from here

This place is a joke. They don’t care about their employees. This is a high volume warehouse where we don’t have enough employees for the workload so expect to work 16 hrs for 5 days at night. They find every possible thing to make budget cuts. We use to get bonuses, they took that away. They use to feed us, they took that away. They expect you to work work work in this high volume place with little to no break for long hours, yet they don’t want us to get paid what we deserve. They don’t care about you. Stay far away from this company.

Good Pay but no personal life!!

Good company and benefits but no personal life. Good job to stay in shape and keep (trucker) weight off. No personal life is worst part about it. Consistent money and home everyday still makes it better the most.

The pay, sometimes food, and some co workers

The pay at this job is really good for the work your gonna be doing , they feed you every once in a while and some co workers are cool and some others aren't so cool and very lazy and talk all day

Good Pay

Put your big boy boots on because it's hard work, but it's worth the pay. You'll work in all types of weather running food. You'll have no problem staying in shape.Pros: Good payCon: Hurt Back

Toxic work environment - culture is a sham

executive management could care less about anyone, all about numbers, added stress to make the numbers or be on 5 calls to explain why. The culture does not come from the top down, comes from bottom up. Diversity and Inclusion ? really, shame too - look how many high levels managers are diversity background, less than 5% - this is a control and command business from 25 years ago. Not uncommon to work 6 days a week, all hours and forget about time off - people schedule meetings regardless and you are expected to attend

Pros

food purchases

Cons

too many conference calls, no sincerity behind culture of diversity

Good place to work

Overall Good place to work. Management is good. No work life balance. Pay is average. I would recommend as there is plenty of room to advance with the company.

Great long term dependable company. Very physical though.

Every day you get challenged by the amount of cases you have to unload. UNLOAD means physically handling each case that's on your truck. You stack them on a two wheeler and have to pull 100's of lbs of food up and down steps, up and down hills, through tight kitchens and coolers. Also every customer is angry at you because now they have to put all the food your bringing away (I always loved that part haha). The job is VERY physical. If you're looking for a daily workout or challenge then this is the job for you!!!! After being there for a year its kind of a mindless daily grind. Pretty easy job mentally. The best part of the job is the stability. ITS VERY DIFFICULT TO GET FIRED. You have to be a complete screw up to lose your job. If you go in and try to get your route done on time and notify dispatch anytime there's a delay out of your control then you can expect to keep your job forever. Slackers get called out. you must be a hard worker. OTR drivers get chewed up and spit out all the time because of the tough physical nature of this job. Benefits are top notch!!! Pay is mediocre for the amount of labor involved. I loved all my management but I was a very hard worker and never gave them any issues. They are strict about driving safety (which they should be!!!), uniforms, and discrimination. All of which are important. If you don't mind a long hard days work and want to stay somewhere LONG term then I can't recommend this company enough.

Pros-The payCons-everything else

The place is falling apart. The VP has no experience, and even management is quitting. The culture is toxic. It's worse than high school. There is no HR on site so good luck on your issues. Make sure you put in your two weeks (who does that anymore) or you'll get screwed out of your unpaid vacation.
