My favourite gym

Ufc gym has been my favourite gym to run my business out of so far in my career. I have met so many extraordinary people along the way.

Pros

great people and facilities

Cons

cold in the winter

Hype gym with no proper structure to support coaches

Gym sells PT packs (run by the CPTs) which competes with the subcontracted coaches own PT services and then they somehow expect the subcontracted coaches to also pay rent? Classes are fixed which means you'll sometimes have to travel just to reduce your rent and know that you aren't getting paid. The only good thing about this gym is that it will help you build resilience when you realize that it has a very niche customer base only interested in classes and MMA. Terrible place to work if you want to build your business as a PT

Do not work at UFC gym!

UFC gym has to be one of the worst places to work. The management is horrible and there is a strong culture of bullying and gaslighting. The pay is unsustainably low especially for the workload they expect you to do, as well as the extra time worked that isn’t accounted for. All of these factors reflect on their ridiculously high turnover rate. They hire new staff every 3 months. Save yourself the trouble and don’t bother working here.

Pros

Free gym membership

Cons

Bullying, low pay, poor management

Worst place I have ever worked

I've been in management of gyms for over 12 years and this place absolutely sucked the life out of me. The pay was ok but was low for the amount of work they will make you do. upper-management was horrible and unorganised, and would blame you when things hit the fan. they don't pay you for over time, won't give you time in lieu, never show appreciation no matter how hard you work. Make you feel bad when you can't work back (for free) and tell you that you're not a team player. Do yourself a favour and do not work for this company!!

Pros

Nothing

Cons

Management, culture and poor business practices

Not a great place to work

Club management is known to bully club members and staff. The fitness manager has no experience in a mangers position and was not trained what so ever. i will never recommend any f my friends and family to work or train there

Don't work here!

The only good thing about working at UFC are the customers. I enjoyed helping them as much as possible. However the management is horrendous, which is reflected on their high turn over rate. The system they have in place makes it impossible to report issues in the work place. The salary was incredibly low for the amount of responsibilities that were expected. I would never work here again.

They Care more about creating a Culture & Profits than Staff or Members

I had the privilege of working in two departments while my time at UFCgym at a Corporate facility (not a franchisee). First in Sales, than as a Coach. I have a lot to go through so to make things easier I will note them down as dot points in each category below; Pros; * Culture/Vibe was mostly appealing * The other staff members I worked along side with & meeting so many others as Members - making friends, creating bonds etc * Free membership as long as you're employed (one extra for family/friend) * Relationships that you are able to build Cons; * No sales commission structure for the first two months I was employed * Due to no structure in place I was not able to earn a living wage * Very High turnover of Staff including; Receptionists, Salespersons & Coaches/Trainers - that is every department within the gym * OVERDUE commission payslips TWICE! (waited longer than 2months for 1months payment) was also declined (or dismissed/ignored) when I brought up the issue of Back-Pay * Forced to work for free as a Coach by the company out of gym * Extended classes not paid as equal time as a Coach example; $25 per 45min/per fitness class - $25 per 90min/per fitness hybrid class * Harassment & unnecessary/unwanted language & behaviour by upper management (business card was title "Head Office Support")

Team leading, enjoyable working place

A typical day would be having great team workers and leaders that want to achieve the same goal at the end of the day. An enjoyable place to work! Also being able to speak your mind with ideas

Pros

Great people

Cons

Not enough people
